where I live (Northern VA) there are 3 service centers within 35 miles of each other. I am not sure if I can call them 'stores', because I believe they are not allowed to transact vehicle sales, but all are full scale service centers that are capable of handling vehicle delivery.

But there is surge on VIN assignments since the weekend: NJ, NY, TN, OH are all get these VIN these days. Nearly all people in these states had orders in between Dec 15-16 (the first days of the second wave invites).
