UPDATE: I got a chance to test it this morning on a trip to Waffle House, about a 30 minute drive each way.
iPhone 16 Pro Max starting charge: 50%
Charge after 31 minute drive: 57%
Charge after 28 minute return drive: 63%
And the most important bit - my phone did NOT overheat! This is a first...
While there are very real issues with quality control and service, which isn't entirely unexpected for a brand new platform, the majority of us have little to no problems beyond the minor recalls. My experience is similar to yours, I got my FS AWD in early May '24, and it's been an absolute joy...
That's unfortunate. I put in a request through the Tesla app for mobile service to replace it with the new one, they came out 3 days later and replaced it at no charge.
Just had it done yesterday, so I haven't had much of a chance to test it yet, but for the 15 minutes I had my phone on it...
UPDATE: Replacement done, super easy fix. Service was free and completed in my garage. This is the old part, as with earlier pics from others, the most visible change is the addition of heat sink fins.
Tesla mobile service just showed up to replace my phone heater (May '24) with the new heat sink enabled version, I'll report back if it has any effect with an iPhone 16 Pro Max. Before replacement, my phone would overheat within 20 minutes.
I have a FS AWD, but I've been lucky enough to test drive a Beast. If you want that launch burst of speed, the Beast really is a whole other animal. But they're closer than you probably think in reality.
Tesla reports 0-60 times on their performance models, including the Cyberbeast, with...
Obviously it depends on the electricity rates in your area and where you charge - home vs. commercial Superchargers or 3rd party chargers.
For me, I rarely road trip, almost all of my driving is around metro Atlanta and my charging is done at home with a Tesla Universal Wall Charger. In my use...
I have mobile service coming out this Thursday to replace my original module with the new one (FS AWD May '24), but for the last 6 months or so I've been using this charger setup. It's a Jowua MagSafe charger head fitted onto a metal arm from another mount (I liked the look of it). The Jowua...
It does decently well with slight spills as it has a 3D surface texture like a waffle on most of it, but with a solid edge, so small spills get captured.
I prefer a more minimalist look to keep the bottoms of the cupholders clean, I have this silicone insert that simply lays in the OEM holders. It looks pretty cool and comes in multiple colors (I'm using red)
I have the same ones, I'm using 3 clips per shade - one for every edge except the bottom. They attach super easily by kind of rolling them on the stiff frame edges. There's a couple of smaller clips with VHB sticky pads that I assume are for the edge at the bottom, but I skipped those to keep...
Powered retractable rear window to allow pass-through to the bed
USB-C & 120v outlet inside the frunk
Phone heaters replaced by actual wireless phone chargers (or at least add a fan)
Natively swivel/tilt front screen
HUD - we have sooo much good glass for this!
The tonneau cover is made of aluminum slats with a matte black powder-coated finish, not really the target for that product. You could test a small area.
After 4.5 years on the reservation list, I picked up my Foundation AWD CT just over a year ago, it's my first Tesla - first EV of any kind, actually.
I have absolutely zero regrets.
The Cybertruck is the best vehicle I've ever driven. It's also ruined me for other cars that don't have...
