    cyber car (not really)

Someone modified their car to be more aerodynamic. I remember a website and forum that I came across more than a decade ago that dealt with modifications like this for hypermiling. It was ecomodder.com and it's still around. I remember reading about people using foam, cardboard, and tape to...

We need to push Tesla & Elon to speed up the delivery of CT

I don't know where you get that Tesla has postponed the Cybertruck AGAIN? What other times had it been postponed? This is the only delay that is somewhat official besides the original target dates the day after unveiling. And no, there's nothing we can or should do to speed up production of...

Expected Mileage for CyberTruck and Model Y

I think Tesla will not significantly increase the range of Model Y, but will instead choose to make it with less battery capacity to maintain (or slightly improve) its current range. That will reduce the cost and weight of the Model Y and make it more affordable to more people.

Update from Elon: Cybertruck production starting late 2022 and volume production in 2023

I agree that the others will not have the scale of Tesla, which means even more that lost sales to them won't matter much to Tesla. As far as the others not being a good option because they aren't work trucks, that depends on what the buyer is getting it for. The only reasons I want the...

Update from Elon: Cybertruck production starting late 2022 and volume production in 2023

Rivian actually used the 2170 cell form factor just like Tesla does for the Model 3/Y. And they have been testing their battery tech for many years. I bet they will be just fine.

Update from Elon: Cybertruck production starting late 2022 and volume production in 2023

If you really want the Trimotor and if Tesla makes that one first, just change your earliest reservation with the lowest number to a Trimotor. Bad thing is if you reserved with FSD at $7k, it would change that to the current price.

Update from Elon: Cybertruck production starting late 2022 and volume production in 2023

Lost sales to other EV brands might not matter much if Tesla can't keep up with demand, and if they really want people to transition to EVs like Elon Musk has said.

    Vacuum Switches

Trailer brakes are electric or hydraulic (surge brakes activated by the pressure on the tongue between vehicle and trailer). Semi trailers have air brakes (need air pressure to deactivate the brakes).

Alpha Wolf Truck and other Models

If you go to their website and click on pre-order, you can see that in addition to the single cab Wolf, they also have a render for an extended cab Wolf+ and a crew cab Superwolf.

    What about a Three seater?

I think that if the truck were too short, that would affect a lot of the angles of the exoskeleton. So I don't think Tesla will do it unless they change a lot of the design. But I would love a single cab version for myself because I like small trucks and I mainly drive by myself.

I see Cramer is at it again….he’s clearly NOT a truck person.

To be exact, the first Model Ys were delivered in March 2020, so it's been about 1.5 years. Also, the price has gone up and down a little since then, but is only $1000 more right now for an LR and the exact same price for a Performance. March 2020...

Pros/Cons of buying a CT (mostly fiscally related)

I wouldn't worry about the screen because the truck will work without a screen (just like Model 3 and Y). The infotainment computer, Autopilot/FSD computer, and vehicle controls computers are all separate. On Model 3/Y you can still drive the vehicle with a broken or no screen, and can even...

    Cybertruck is a ROBOT

I hope Tesla eventually adds the same functionality that Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri have. It would probably be easy for Tesla to just feed your question/command through the Bluetooth connection to your smartphone as of it were a headset. And feed the response through the speakers. The...

CT rear bumper is not a bumper

On Model 3 the rear bumper is plastic. Right behind it is a bolted-on aluminum crash bar that is designed to take impact and crush/deform before the impact travels to the rear structure.

    Towing to charge a Tesla

There's a difference between "cannot" and "is not approved by the manufacturer". You obviously can tow charge them as has been demonstrated multiple times. But Tesla does not approve of that for their own reasons. Maybe it's for liability reasons, or maybe it puts more stress on certain parts...

Replacement tire price will be a shock

The big shock to the uninitiated will be how often you will likely have to replace the tires. The tires will be a standard size and you will be able to buy tires that are used by many other trucks out there. But due to the higher initial torque and how fun Teslas are, many Tesla owners wear...

304 stainless steel piece received. Taking partial delivery of Cybertruck/ Mobsters are threatening to return Cybertruck piece by piece

I also have a piece with the exact same dimensions and the same 304 SS, but I bought mine off of Amazon for around $18. I'd post the link, but it's not available anymore (I bought it on November 25th, 2019). I'm sure one can probably find a similar piece from another vendor on Amazon or buy it...

Anyone have an EV as their ONLY vehicle?

My only car is my Tesla Model 3. I've been driving it for for 3.5 years and 65k miles and I still love it. I was going to add to my stable with the Cybertruck, but now I'm pretty sure that I won't be getting Cybertruck. I really want the truck, but don't really need it.

    Lightship RV, another EV-friendly camper

The co-founders of this new company worked for Tesla for years before deciding to make a camper that is made to work well with EVs because it will be aerodynamic. They want it to be all-electric, modern, and connected. See their video announcement about it. They are hiring engineers and...

Inflation & preorders final purchase price.

Do you have a reservation on a Cybertruck? If you do, look at the pre-order agreement. It clearly states that the pre-order price is an estimate and will be confirmed when you put in the actual order. And that it's subject to change. There will be no lawsuits over price changes.
