New Cybertruck Owner (First Tesla & New to Group) (Please Read)

I think the main thing w I think the main thing was frequent smaller charges are better than infrequent large charges. So charging from say 40 to 60% five times would be easier on a battery than single charge from 0 to 100%. He also mentioned that there is a change in the batteries when you go...

Keep your vehicle charged to 75% and charge every chance you get. If you need to store your vehicle in a hot environment, keep it at 30%. In his lab, the batteries lasted what would be well over 800k miles with those guidelines. Charging to 80 or 85% will still have your battery lasting a long...

Tire shop won't deal with Cybertruck tires?

I've been going to Discount Tire for Tesla tires for years now. I haven't yet been there for my Cybertruck, but I can't imagine they wouldn't fix a tire for me. Sounds like a bad Discount Tire shop. I would personally reach out to their management via email, but that can be a bit of a hassle.

Temporary loss in responsive steer by wire.

That's a little scary. I hope you reported it. What software version are you on?

Temporary loss in responsive steer by wire.

That's the first thing that pops into my mind as well. However, if you look at his post history, that doesn't seem to be the case.

    No ASS yet

When we finally get ASS, I'll probably use it as much as we do in my wife’s model Y which is never. Maybe others use it, but to me, i ts a neat party with limited practical use. I would like to have dumb summon to back my truck out whenever someone parks too close to me.

Public REACTIONS to Your Cybertruck (and Your Reaction)? [Admin Warning: NO POLITICS]

I would make sure your wife knows she's in a 6000 pound weapon encased in stainless steel with armor glass. My wife is a better person that i am and has the ability to ignore it. People on motorcycles really shouldn't be picking fights with people in trucks. Might end up wearing coffee.

Can Tesla make the Cybertruck safer? Tesla Owners are Making Their Own Emergency Door Releases

All cars i know of stay locked after a wreck. Its just that cars with laminated windows are harder to get into than cars without laminated windows. The engineering needed to make it so that doors open automatically after a wreck would be very costly. A lot of newer cars from Mercedes, BMW...

New Cybertruck Owner (First Tesla & New to Group) (Please Read)

Here is a link to one of the engineers who helped tesla developed their batteries explaining how to increase the life of your cars batteries. Dr Jeff Dahn. It's an hour long video but has really good information about preserving your battery. After listening to the video, I'm pretty sure the...

What do you do if you have a flat tire

I was mainly commenting that removing the Tesla lug nuts is not hard if you have the right equipment. I don't carry that with me on the road. When I have a flat, which is rare but seems to happen to me more than other people on this thread, I call my wife and have her bring me everything I...

What do you do if you have a flat tire

I change my wheels every winter, and I don't think the lug nuts are hard to change at all. I use a 26-inch torque wrench to break the nuts, and of course, to do the final torque. Less than 70 pounds of force required. I wish I had a lift, but I'm slumming it with a hydraulic jack.

Son of ex-NBA star and USC basketball commit, placed in coma after crashing Cybertruck

You don't usually hear people say “I was driving like an idiot and lost control.” which is probably what happened. In every analysis that's been done so far where people have claimed tesla cars accelerates without the accelerator being pushed, its been proven false. I believe this will be the...

Cybertruck reportedly left out of Unsupervised FSD

As a programmer who has programmed many deep neural networks, I can tell you that it takes almost nothing to reconfigure your program to go from a model Y to a Cybertruck. Just data. Now fine tuning a model Y DNN to work for a cybertruck is another story. Much more nuanced. If there were already...

What would it take to make Tesla move on from the Cybertruck?

Thank you for the information. Looking at the link you provided, I see that the Tesla Cybertruck was the biggest selling electric truck in 2024. It will be interesting to see how they sell now that the less expensive models are available.

1-Year Free FSD Trial !! -- did you receive the offer?

I’m sure someone else has already said this. This is just to get more data. This is going to benefit all of us as this data will be used to train or tune FSD for cybertrucks. Great move on Tesla’s part. I’m thankful they’re taking this step.

Only 1 crash for every 7.44 million miles driven using Tesla Autopilot in Q1 2025

You’re correct. In April 2021, NHTSA requested data from Tesla on crashes, including cases where Autopilot was disengaged before impact, as part of its investigation into Tesla’s driver assistance systems. The probe, expanded in August 2021 to focus on 11 crashes involving emergency vehicles...

Only 1 crash for every 7.44 million miles driven using Tesla Autopilot in Q1 2025

As I am writing this, I notice that others have already gone down this route and shown the data stated in this post. The statement is false overall. The first part, claiming 17% of cars in Western Washington are Teslas, is not supported; estimates are around 1.5%. The second part, claiming...
