Youre probably actually seeing “hold to close” which happens when it doesnt shut fully and needs an override to close all the way.

Hopefully someone or tesla just comes out with a flush cover for right there!

Just posting my thought, i broke both offroading and removed rhem. Its not hard at all! 8 10mm bolts and you can pull off the whole rocker panel, then a T35? to unscrew the rear fairings. First side took me 25 minutes, second side 15 minutes!

Hey just wanted let you know the rear fairings are actually much easier than you think. (I took mine off after busting them while offroad). Its 1 bolt under each plastic wheel arch, 1 or 2 clips off the bottom wheel liner, then iirc 6 bolts on the side panel and then just pull from underneath to...

curious what you qualify as off roading? There definitely wasnt a road there, and 12-16inch steps that were climbed multiple times would argue yes, i was offroad??

Front ones yes, rear ones you have to take the whole rocker panel off… @UP_Frank need my sliders soon!

Totally agree! Was out with a purpose built tacoma and 4 runner and other than going a little slower because i didnt want to break anything, I did all they could. My only annoyance is the rear wheel fairings, those are now broken lol. I wish they were easily removable
