This is a brilliant observation. Now that you mention it I benefit from this a LOT.
I do the Austin-Houston bug smash run at least once a month. Windshield is free of bodies. I had a Jeep 4xe prior and yes, that windshield needed to go through the deluxe carwash at the end of every trip
The FJ is a legend. TBH I doubt EVs will ever beat ICE vehicles for range / survivalism. Ethanol free gasoline lasts for decades and you can bring it with you. The only EV with a solar panel roof is a Prius PHEV.
I would absolutely buy a Cybertruck again. It makes me feel like a superhero...
Saw a white Dodge Daytona on Hwy 71 in Austin today. We were driving eastbound from Hill Country and I pulled aside to let it cruise by my Cybertruck so I could get a better look. Easily the best looking EV on the market right now.
The pictures online don’t do it justice. It looks like an 80s...
Buyer beware, “frequently returned item”:
I bought the below GSPSCN one which does fit in the smuggler’s bay. It’s good up until about 50-55 psi, but then struggles hard to reach +60 psi. Maybe it’s my fault for over inflating my tires but I put on a lot of highway miles. Also the little...
As someone who received my Cybertruck in August 2024, I say buying one today is a no-brainer.
Price cuts, LIFETIME SUPERCHARGING, no years of waiting for your preorder…
I know the recall wait is disappointing but put in context it is well worth the wait. Deep down you know you want a...
+1
The touch carwash rotated my rear wheel covers out of alignment and stained them with the “tire shine” treatment. Also my front license plate was almost torn off.
Now I only go to the touchless carwash. The reality is I need to go back to hand washing in my driveway. TBH I don’t mind the...
+1, the Cybertruck manual says it’s the battery:
Vehicle deceleration due to regenerative braking may vary depending on the current state of the Battery
If only the Cybertruck owner had driven a F150 instead. The steel frame would have simply bent, instead of snapping like the aluminum frame. Then it would have still been driveable ?
Since we Cybertruck owners could all use a feel good story right about now, here’s a good one!
Tonight I had dinner party, which in the Austin Tech scene is pretty much a networking event. One of my kid’s friends’ dads is a manufacturing lead at Giga Texas and I told him I had a Cybertruck.
He...
The OP has a good point. I bought my wife a Lexus RX350h at the same time as my Cybertruck. The Lexus has INCREASED in value by $10k, mostly because it’s the best selling hybrid right now. Also Lexus has since increased the MSRP of new ones.
I love my Cybertruck and have no plans on selling it...
The Cybertruck’s regenerative braking causes deadly o̶v̶e̶r̶s̶t̶e̶e̶r̶ understeer in a panic situation. As a long time RWD ICE driver I learned this the hard way in the Cybertruck. Thankfully it only resulted in me hopping a curb, but I learned a valuable lesson: ALWAYS keep your foot on the...
