After coming back from dinner, the wrap settled in and removed pretty much all imperfections just with time. Super happy with the results. On to the rest tomorrow, fun and rewarding project. Watch the video series from part 1 on.
So I just did the hood to see how it would go. Figure worst case I get another piece and take to my installer. I'd say it went pretty good. I had a hell of a time getting all the bubbles out, seems no matter what I did one would get trapped, pull up and try again, maybe I need more spray...
I haven’t watched all the videos yet. Just clicked on the prep one and life got in the way. But they sent a heat gun so the corners must be heat and adhesive activated.
I got the colored PPF in satin. Would have preferred matte but the price was right. Did you prep a panel at a time or the whole thing? Dust, even small amounts is always around so I was just going to do sections. Like the front. Then doors. The panels.

Good perspective on the 15 hours. I have a PPF satin DIY in the garage that I'm trying to decide if I do it myself or have my tint guy do it. They will charge me 150/hr and estimating 10-15 hours. And I have to prep it.
I'm a pretty handy guy, build cabinets,, million tools...
I had just home from a short trip, was parked and probably locked by this time. Messing around in the garage and noticed the tailgate down. Went to close and it wouldn't. The locks were reversed so it would not go in. Was able to hit the unlock to trigger it and quickly closed, but then did...
It was some mistake they said. I got a VIN, selected next day and then they texted me. Said it was in Cleveland and hadn’t been scheduled to be picked up to get to Columbus. Offered me to pick it up there.
2 small scratches and the frunk needs a minor adjustment. Nothing my local SC can’t handle as mobile. Drove it 2 hours home and it was somewhat dangerous at times people chasing to take videos. Already tailgating with it night 1 at a kids baseball game.
I have the opportunity to pick up my CT tomorrow, but at a different SC 150 miles away. If I drive there with a Uhaul car hauler and plan to tow back my Bronco (4500 pounds + trailer), is that a problem for a CT with <10 miles?
Seems like a good time to do a DYI wrap. Silver lining. I should get mine friday and PPF comes the same day, going to be hard to not drive it for 3-5 days, my hope is 1 day install, 2 days rest.
I guess I understand the myopic view, but did you not see the 500k Fords with recalls the same day at the CT "deadly" accelerator pedal? Nothings perfect, and will ever be. I got the first MSLR refresh delivered in Ohio. Few mobile service calls, nothing that those great techs can't solve...
After scheduling they then said I can't do tomorrow because it's in Cleveland and awaiting transport. 1-2 weeks they said. I doubt I can find 5 hours round trip this weekend, but my wife may have to try.
I texted the SC this morning and they said mine was in Cleveland, few hours away and I could go pick it up. No trade in, so not really an option. 30 minutes later I got a delivery text and I just schedule delivery scheduled for 5/8.
Being a 7200, I wonder if a customer declined delivery...
