This is intriguing. Did you have to disconnect anything with the outlet panel or did you do the other side without the outlets?
  2. Kid dropped iPad down tonneau cover slit.

My wife rigged a plumbing grabber tool with hot glue blobs on the teeth but there is this annoying bar in the way. iPad is above that silver bar. ?

If it jacks up the gears or anything then I’m screwed and will cost who knows how much. If we cannot fish out today then I have that 9am appt with Tesla SC tomorrow.
  4. Kid dropped iPad down tonneau cover slit.

Yes, I see what you mean. should have read "with the cover closed and inside of the bed". It almost looks like a ledge where you can rest something. Which leads me to this question for Tesla really. Let say you load it up with soil/dirt, close the cover so it doesn't get muddy. Go over a lot...

Yeah like a kids fort when playing. He and his friend were hanging out and wanting to watch Netflix in his hideaway. Yes he realizes Netflix is also in the back seat too. Oh well.
  6. Kid dropped iPad down tonneau cover slit.

We thought of this but…. Probably a better idea exists. ?
  7. Kid dropped iPad down tonneau cover slit.

We have the camera and bought a couple of these grabbers from Amazon. Yeah this sucks big time. I’ll update you all tomorrow with our most likely failed attempt.
  8. Kid dropped iPad down tonneau cover slit.

We’ve only been in bed. We used 4’ long rigid snake camera to, very difficult mind you, angle it down all the way over the angular hump, to get that picture. We can’t use adhesive because it will stick against wall before we reach iPad. It’s insanely difficult to meander through the obstacles...

The tonneau is not rolled back so no need to worry about scratching it. Thank you though.
  10. Kid dropped iPad down tonneau cover slit.

I wonder if you asked them if they tried with cover closed as we cannot open it or we damage what’s down there.
  11. Kid dropped iPad down tonneau cover slit.

thanks for the idea. No it wasn’t terribly magnetic. It was enough to detect it to lock when flipped closed. We’re going to try to fish it out tomorrow, but then if unsuccessful (which we probably will be), I’ll be taking it into service on Tuesday. they’re going to laugh at me.
  12. Kid dropped iPad down tonneau cover slit.

I think, if we cannot fish it out, there is a way to remove that back wall but it requires removing the side walls First. Pretty difficult job with needing to keep the tonneau cover closed the whole time.
  13. Kid dropped iPad down tonneau cover slit.

Here is our camera snake image. We found it. But can’t really tell which way is up.
  14. Kid dropped iPad down tonneau cover slit.

I wonder if you remove the bed floor if that gives full access to that well.
  15. Kid dropped iPad down tonneau cover slit.

Thanks, which part of the service manual did you see this? And we cannot open the cover unfortunately so right, it’s going to either be impossible, or a nightmare.
  16. Kid dropped iPad down tonneau cover slit.

I think i know what you mean by the aero flap, but that is when the cover is open i think, where it would possibly be helpful. But i cannot open it as it will damage one or both the iPad/tonneau cover.
  17. Kid dropped iPad down tonneau cover slit.

Can you send me that video? I’m not sure what you mean.
  18. Kid dropped iPad down tonneau cover slit.

He sat it up there, it was dark as the cover was closed and is slipped right down. Not his finest moment. And yes that schematic is what i saw and realized this can be horrific.
  19. Kid dropped iPad down tonneau cover slit.

It’s in a closed position. If i open it, I’m screwed.
