    New under seat vault

Just installed these on my CT. Pretty stoked about these. Previously carried in the glove box but the glove box was not that secure and requires a bit of reaching. Also this vault has a lot more room, handy if you want to carry hand cannons. I think I may swap out this PSA Rock 5.7 with my...

Homemade mobile solar charging panels, Starlink, & other mods on my Cybertruck

CIGS panels are here! Did a prelim test today, got 6 miles on a partly cloudy day (although it mostly cleared up after 3pm), which is less than the 12 miles (as calculated) with the other setup using folding panels which had more surface area and was tested on a full sun day. Still working on a...

Homemade mobile solar charging panels, Starlink, & other mods on my Cybertruck

LOL, are you like this in real life? I doubt it, nobody can function with social skills this poor. It's only on the internet where people can pretend role play as a boss. Seems to be a pattern with you.

Thanks for that info. Almost every review I've read for consumer grade wind turbines was negative. At least you kids are getting value out of it, lol

Ummm all your points have not only been addressed but called out in the OP. Some people create, some are reply guys who got no life so they do what you do.

That would be really cool if you built that out, please keep us posted if you do. Yep was pulling 30A no problem. Tesla mobile charger had no complaints. Edit: Just to clarify, was pulling 30A with a modified NEMA 14-50 adapter, using the EVSE TT30 adapter, it's limited to 24A.

Homemade mobile solar charging panels, Starlink, & other mods on my Cybertruck

Thanks, I like that idea. And if you want the range extender which is delayed again, this is not a bad alternative. For my use case, I don't see carrying more than 3-4kW of panels max. I've hauled 31 370W panels and this was like 1600lbs with them all bundled on a pallet. I'll be using this for...

Homemade mobile solar charging panels, Starlink, & other mods on my Cybertruck

Yeah sadly, there is a lot of overhead both from the power station inverter side, and the CT charging side. Charging at 5A. 110V won't work well as you've shown. In my boondocking use case, my plan was to minimize overhead losses by minimizing charge time. Let the power station charge via solar...

Looks promising, I'll probably jump on one if the reviews are good when they come out

Yeah I agree there. I considered the BougeRV fiberglass for the foldout wings since it would require less structural support. Right now I am thinking part of the PV array will be CIGS bonded to the roof glass though. Better resilience to hail and performance in constantly changing lighting...

Maybe get a life so you don't have to go barking orders on internet to feel important?

Homemade mobile solar charging panels, Starlink, & other mods on my Cybertruck

Yeah those are their fiberglass panels and look pretty good. However I am preferring CIGS for a few reasons: * Much better shade performance. This equates to more kWh captured over the course of the day, even if peak W is lower * Much more durable, they are going to get knocked around...

Homemade mobile solar charging panels, Starlink, & other mods on my Cybertruck

Cheers, I'm also building a solar charging station and have a regular one for the house. I would use a completely different setup if you don't plan on moving it around. Use rigid panels for one. They are cheap now and more durable. Also lots of good combined MPPT charge controllers/inverters...

Homemade mobile solar charging panels, Starlink, & other mods on my Cybertruck

The 800W setup weighs about 130lbs. Definitely worth it for extended camping IMO. Even if it's just used for camp use to keep the inverters off on the car and reduce drain. I have the Delta 2 which is smaller and it won't work. It suffers from the voltage drop mentioned in the OP and the...

Yeah I am looking forward to see how those perform, and the impact on aerodynamics

Homemade mobile solar charging panels, Starlink, & other mods on my Cybertruck

Yeah someone posted it on my thread on FB. Looks really interesting. My only concern is this is made for large scale solar arrays, in static settings where it is more overpaneled and conditions are more stable. For mobile, you can carry maybe 3kW max practically. Most of the time much...

Homemade mobile solar charging panels, Starlink, & other mods on my Cybertruck

They are cheap LVYUAN 400W panels. Also tested ALLPOWERS, BougeRV, and several other brands. The LVYUAN were well below spec (~70% vs 80% industry avg) but still better in terms of actual $/W than all other brands. Just prototyping for now before finalizing the design and spending the money on...
