Yeah that’s pretty annoying for FS gray/AS buyers, but it was pretty well understood here that gray / AS were going to end up being the base options. Most manufacturers do this (some kind of unique interior thing / larger wheels / upgraded tires, etc).
Either it’s moving out of order a bit, or they’re moving through the non-FS list faster than FS.
I feel like I read “waiting for non foundation!” a thousand times over the past year. How many of those will actually convert, vs how many are not there financially or are otherwise kicking tires...
That one will sting because it has to be true in a good amount of the cases.
Really though, for me, it will be more killing will kindness.
“I hate your truck!!!”
“Ok. I like yours. Always liked that body style. Have a good day.”
Well said. I have to laugh when the Cybertruck is compared to other EV trucks. In a data comparison grid with things like range and bed length, your brain starts to trick you into thinking you’re comparing two like products. Most would think (as I originally thought prior to driving one) that...
Right. It’s still a $5k get it early fee. Just because some people got non-FS invites doesn’t mean anyone can buy one. It’s going to take some time for them to tap out demand and work through the list.
I expect many many gray / core / no FSD trucks on the road in the coming year
Agree. At $79k, (keep to gray, core wheels, no FSD), it’s a steal for what you get. You can wait on the potential tax credit but it’s possible those days will be over along with the election. Government subsidy on EVs are a hot topic.
Almost exactly what we’ve been guessing.
Foundation was basically a nominal $5k “get it early” fee on an apples to apples basis. Really glad I got it early.
At the same time also very fair for people looking to spend $80k on a base package. I think this will be a big seller.
And yet now…. We...
Yeah I’d rather just a credit. Doesn’t even need to be a huge one. They’re going to spend a shit load more redesigning this again, shipping new ones, and having tire warranty claims. I’m good with the regular wheels
I do think that’s part of it.
Persona 1:
Imagine saving up for years and years, getting to a point where you’re established, and painstakingly researching trucks to finally drop $90k on “the one”. Then 6 months later a truck shows up that’s way better.
Let’s be real… Lets say Nikola Tesla...
Victims mentality
“Seeing somebody I’ve never met drive a type of car I’ve never driven, have never been a passenger in, or have never met an actual owner of, ruins my whole day.”
Is it at all possible that the cybertruck driver is just driving around their family going about their day? Not...
Downloaded! I am typically at least a week or two after I start seeing YouTube videos about whatever release.
First drive of just a couple miles was great.
I did get in “no you go!” Politeness fight at a stop sign. I think the other driver was pretty pissed by the end. They 100% had the right...
Good video. Basically, it serves as a daily driver / sports car / truck, and it’s fun.
Most haters focus on one single thing as a benchmark (typically focusing on the work truck aspect because it has a bed).
Have AWD. I never really considered the beast since AWD is faster when any car I’ve ever had by far as it is… I find I’d almost nauseatingly fast. However, let’s say I trade my CT in down the line for a new CT… I’d go beast to change it up.
Taking money out of the equation, beast is of course...
messed up because it’s available to buy but early owners are still waiting?
If it persists now that they’re available, yes. But I would take this as a sign that they’re shipping soon
