Faster acceleration in a truck is really dumb. Dual motor is plenty of speed. It's $20k premium to brag that you have a CB because it is otherwise the exact same truck except for shorter range. I don't think there is any logical reason to buy the CB.
All of your thoughts and feelings are justified. But either suck it up and move forward, or vote with your wallet. Tesla doesn't have to be nice to anyone until it hurts them financially. They aren't exactly a cuddly company, they've been cut throat and have always been that way. Buy a model x...
I share the same sentiment. Apart from rhe exterior shell and steer by wire this feels like a last gen lightning rather than a next gen battery truck. Keep in mind the lightning was a retrofit, Ford basically just converted an existing body into an EV. Tesla has had 4+ years to built and...
Agreed. I love the CT and it's features, if they could improve either one of those aspects it would make a big difference. I'm most excited for future development in the chemical composition of the batteries and from what it sounds like it's a simple upgrade for Tesla to make on their battery...
I completely understand your mentality and agree. A big part of why I want a tesla is the continuous improvement. The difference is for $100-120k I expect that baseline to start at a decent level. This information in my opinion puts it below that threshold. This is weird to not have been...
From @JoeTegtmeyer on x:
"Some exciting insights into efforts going on at Giga Texas concerning revising 4680 chemistry composition of elements & cell changes underway right now in the northwest corner of the main factory.
At the end of 2023, the 4680 battery chemical composition ratios in...
Did they just rush this thing out? Between this, the slow charge curve, and a few other items, it just doesn't feel like a fully polished product. I do know Tesla constantly evolves their products but paying $120k for this? Come on now
My Porsche 911 is 15 years old. Modern tech and sports cars are much more advanced. I'll be keeping my 911 for another 30 years because I love it so much and it's the perfect blend of everything that cannot be recreated again. The CT may end up being that sweet spot or at least have a body style...
Yes at this point it's exactly that - a rich person's fun truck that can do some truck stuff. It'll be great for around town but for those of us that need to tow or haul stuff in the bed on a frequent basis or drive long highway miles it just isn't there yet. I need to make frequent trips across...
I also am also considering keeping the stainless steel CT body for the rest of my life. I think these will be so unique there will be a demand for retrofitting structural batteries even if it is very expensive. I think it will also be significantly less expensive than buying a new CT or car at...

Well said, I agree completely. It's a huge missed opportunity in my opinion. This could have ushered in a new era for ev trucks. Instead it looks more like a direct competitor to the rivian and lightning with some unique features.
I couldn't agree more. I don't get the negative comments in response to your posts. We were promised a truck with a 500 mile range. Asking for 250 miles at regular 70mph highway speeds is completely reasonable.
"Man up and tow like my grandfather" lol that has to be one of the dumbest things I've ever read. While you're at it you should also consider "manning up" and towing with two horses like my great great grandfather did. Incredible range and the horses can last 20+ years. It's actually amazing...
