I have a rattle in the exact same area of the dash. Never fails at exactly 54 mph it rattles. Occasionally, I hear the rattle when traveling over certain bumps in the road.
There was no damage caused by my installation. That's the point. The tech was mistaken. There was no cameras sagging or loose lamination. He simply saw an error on or around the time period that I installed the camera and assumed all the rest. All the truck needed was a camera calibration...
I put the camera back after first removing it to evaluate the service techs claim. Everything was tight, sturdy, solid! I put the rearview mirror camera back in place and calibrated the cameras via the service menu. Everything is operating fine, like it all never happened. The service tech did...
I reinstalled the camera, entered the service menu, and calibrated the cameras. I took the truck out for a 15 to 20-minute drive, giving the cameras time to re-calibrate, and everything was normal. There are no error messages on the screen. FSD is again available. All is well. That service tech...

Yes, silly and inaccurate evaluation.
I broke down and opened the whole thing again. I disconnected and removed the rearview mirror. I investigated the area the service tech supposed was pulled off by the (two-pound) rearview mirror camera. It all looked fine, tight, stable, well-mounted, etc...
The service tech was going down a rabbit hole for another issue, which the truck was not there for. However, he claims he was doing me a favor because the light bar is a permanent attachment. With the cameras out of calibration and, in his opinion, the windshield replacement the only solution...
The tech says the laminate, I assume he means the glue that holds it all to the windshield, is pulled down due to the weight of the camera. I don't believe that. unless it was a faulty glue job initially. Thanks for the calibration tip.
