No. You used a mirror tap which means you are pushing a small; pin into the back of a connector and it may or may not make solid contact. That is the problem with mirror taps as they don't always make a good connection and they can come loose when the car bounces around.
My bets are that you...
Check the mirror tap with a multimeter. Sometimes they jiggle out. That had happened on one of my Fords and I had to reseat it. You can buy a cheap multimeter at Home Depot or Walmart.
The water you are getting is super normal for a pickup. They weren’t meant to be 100% water proof. Some have sealed them pretty good but that certainly isn’t outside of normal.
Maybe. I can only speak for the Uniden. It maxes out about 500ma. The V1 Gen 2 is 430ma at max draw. I am fairly certain his detector will be fine. As for other device usage, I can't speak, and for that I would tend to agree with you as IIRC, the CT begins to shut that down at 2-2.5A. So I...
BTW, for those who aren't familiar with Blackbear, it is one of the most dangerous off road trails in the world. Pictures do not do it justice. This should give folks the pucker up for why its so dangerous:
Fast forward to 3:12 to see the interesting part.
LOVE IT!!!!! Getting around the tight corner had to be a breeze with the turning radius on the CT. How did it do? You do it in one shot? I had like a 100 point turn on that in my Jeep Gladiator.
What problems? I have had absolutely no problems whatsoever and has run perfectly since I tapped it. The amp draw on radar detectors is way below what trips issues on that line. This has been discussed many times.
I fully disagree about awareness on Waze itself … the radar detector has saved...
Search on the forum for hardwiring radar detectors or the Uniden radar detector. There are instructions on how to tap into 12-16v where the rearview mirror is. That what I did for mine.
I have no idea where you got that from but a nice set of KMC wheels have always fetched more money aftermarket. Maybe on the CT because people may want the aero covers. But for every other truck and Jeep I have owned, aftermarket wheels have always increased the value on resale.
Just leave the covers on. The wheels are absolute pieces of sh*t. They are made of a cast aluminum and they crack easily… simply from a rock shooting up from the pavement. If you care about the wheels and how they look… buy a new set of after market wheels that look good and are made of high...
Mine was done today too. I noticed the same as you and I also noticed it wasn’t as flush as my previous ones. So I walked around the lot and yes, they all look like mine.
