The Question that covers the most bases is:
What is 30X Stainless Steel???????
What we know: 30X has something to do with SpaceX, and that's it.
What can we imply? That it will be extremely durable, but also quite light (in terms of SS) because rockets are all about weight.
I've mentioned...
4 Wheel Steering, keep this in mind. This might make a full wheel unnecessary or even a nuisance.
Then...seriously.....I cannot be more excited to see this technological terror! Screw bells and whistles, CT might be a Guillotine for OEMs who just add more buttons to add tech.
It'll be S3XY as...
The most recent "verifiable news" is that Ford is still laughing at Tesla because the F150-L production is delayed, they have far fewer reservations than CT, and haven't officially announced prices on individual models.
I don't think it's per family, just per vehicle but I could be wrong.
Demand, not Tax Credit increasing prices. TSLA ran out of credit a long time ago and demand increases every day despite it.
Musk needs to take some of the money he's getting from his recent stock selloff and build...
CT has some advantages other models do not, especially when Solar is included.
First, the stainless steel body is a much better thermal insulator than regular steel/aluminum (think a YETI Rambler, sort of). Steel is 45 W/mK vs Stainless at 15 W/mK vs Aluminum 88+ W/mK.
Also, remember that...
no more than 5%, anything over that and I'll likely have to drop FSD and/or my reservation at my current salary. Fortunately for me, I'm way down the list so I've got at least another 18-24 months before it's my time to buy. Gonna make it happen, CT will be my first TSLA!!!
65K (right now) sounds right with (DM w/ FSD) IMO. Solar will probably not be super popular right away (made a thread on this, best estimate about $3500). So DM, FSD, Solar, taxes 68500.
10k rebate, 58500, gas savings (S is 5k ,CT might be more) 53500.
Average 2021 F150 (30 to 75 k) ICE is...
Rivian will be propped up by Amazon for years (20% share and 100,00 vans preordered). They're handing them money, then they hand it right back and call it a sale and return on investment. Not an uncommon practice with a startup I'm sure. The market knows this and will play it accordingly.
Elon has more or less said that if the damage actually reaches that point in the vehicle, it saved your life. Not, dang I got into more than a fender bender and now have to have a whole new front cast.
if anything they'll drop single motor and just do 2 and 3. adding 4 would require the creation of a new mold I assume, and the demand for 4 is unlikely to be high.
Don't see a point using 4 on anything except Semi and maybe Roadster. Quad Rivian have less performance than Tri CT. 4 motors is required for Tank Turns I assume which is a gimmick they haven't actually been able to achieve yet (if ever)

Let me sum it up, Ford has 160,000 F150L Reservations, CT over 1 Million.
Ford plans to make 20k in 2022, and 50k in 2023, 80k in 2024. CT starts next year as well, "volume in 2023" (I'm assuming thats 5k per week...
Don't see it happening. That's one more step that can/will slow production down. The battery will be structural as well so it might not be physically possible.
Many good points. Another calculation to consider that I thought of over the weekend and after someone mentioned rising fuel costs (going from gas to EV)
Just for some ballpark comparison: F-150 4WD w/ V8 (tried to find best comparisons to 4WD CT)
gets about 16 mpg city ( 1 gallon @ $3/gallon...
Solar Cover is one of my favorite options that will be available, and will most definitely get if the price is right. So let's do some math (very rough estimates, get ready!) haha
Musk says cover will gain about 15 miles/day (likely for dual motor)
1.
So how many KWh is 15 miles for the CT...
