There’s a different thread for this but it’s not just FS issue and yes you should get it fixed. I actually finally have my parts in today so dropping mine off after 5-1/2 months of long wait.
Tampa, FL. Had mine for 5 mos so far all positive. Kids love it, they make spaceship sounds when they ask to see and I tell them to hop inside. Only seen very few CTs in the area though, like 3.
I just thought of possible solution to bottle holder getting pulled, but requires redesign. Make the slat ends as wedges so the fence and the rails snap together.
So looks like Tesla tried to fixed this with subsequent CT productions by replacing the foam seal with rubber seal but failed. Not sure what kind of engineering degree you need to have to know that you need something wider than the gap to get a successful seal, ?. I have over 3/8” gap and they...

If that fails, there’s always 3M VHB tape which is my go-to for semi-perm install. Though manufacturer says some types of their VHB line are permanent, with some elbow grease and Goo Gone, they can still be removed cleanly.
Instead of hot glue which may soften and get uncontrollably gooey under the sun, maybe try a thin strip of neoprene foam? They make those self adhesive too and as thin as 1/16” that squeezes even thinner.
Here you go Djinn, it does have two pieces, a rubber base and a rubber feet held by two allen head screws that you can completely remove. As I mentioned, I ordered mine mid-October so its probably been upgraded from the fixed base.
Installed my aftermatket flaps and comparing to your pics, mine looks a little bigger. Hope it holds up and doesn’t hit the ground. Seems sturdy and seamless though, quick install using OEM plastic rivets with an addition of single metal clip for each of the fronts. Just got tired of muddy water...
