i wouldn't read to much into it .. unless more news comes out.. happens a lot someone is hired to help fix something that is broken.. in this case the supply chain for the cybertruck... once that challange is over the job is boring.. and missing a challenge the exect moves on to a different...
ok i think you might be over exagerating a bit... a supercharger can charge a model Y from under 20% to over 80 in 15 minutes... you can fill your car up in ONE minute.. dude that is amazing.. i can't even get STARTED fueling in one minute.. to many do you have bonus bucks.. do you want bonus...
the weight per foot is higher for charging cables.. which is why they are so short.. and why they can't just put superlong cables on em like they do gas pumps.... sorry if i was unclear.
gas stations are in a different type of area.. most super chargers are in parking lots for other venues stores malls restaurants etc.. they are a convenience to that places customers. Gas stations otoh are the primary draw for a C-Store... they are what bring people into the store to make...
as of right now the rivian is absolutly a better work truck...
I can't get ANYTHING done with my reservation number... OTOH if i buy a rivian it will do things.... will it be better once teslas are being made... don't know haven't seen the final specs.
they NEED nothing.. they get a little cash in their pocket to build out their lines faster.. keep in mind that you ONLY get to a tesla charger when the app points you there.. based on a search there is NOTHING saying tesla can't reserve a set percentage of all free pumps for tesla's ONLY...
doesn't giga texas currently make over 25000 model y's a year... if so... why would they not start a brand new line with some experienced workers?? and the start of a prod line is SLOW first turn it on for a few cars... make those tinker and fix the line then try again... STARTING production...
I get that and agree.. however what i have NOT seen is a lot of demand from Idra for giga presses for other manufacturers. what I am not sure people realize is tesla's BIGGEST advancement isn't in design of the CARS but in the design of the manufacturing process.. until others are reducing part...
because the federal government and states will tax the heck out of gasoline .. in sales distribution storage etc...
the government is determined to tax us out of using gasoline.
I agree with you that we will know in 3-4 months.. however one of the points Elon made early on was he HATES it when a demo type of car is released with good specs/items and the release model doesn't come close to the demo....
SOoooo knowing how important range is.. I will be EXTREMELY...
oops didn't mean to post that part so i took it out.
Just like for the model Y LOTS of options will be available after market.. you can tell from the posts in here some people think a hud is essential and others think not.. so why would they include it?? if you want one buy one.. but lets not...
legal requirements for mirrors is by state.. so for example in texas i think it says you need two side mirrors OR a rear view...
However keep in mind many a person has been pulled over and given a ticket because the officer didn't know the ACTUAL law on the requirement simply what was normal.
I honestly don't see this as a huge deal..
In the 1st quarter of 2023 ford sold 11,000 electric vehicles... tesla sold 181,000 so ford will add 10% to the user pool.. not a huge hit.
Good pr move though
