No not at all. Just ask your service manager to put in the request for you with their business department. They took care of everything for me.

My understanding is with time and heat the gray turns black

The chemical smell is SO strong on mine that it’s virtually impossible to put anything other than my mobile charger and air pump. Anything else I feel would get ruined from the smell I took delivery in April lol

Updated design? It’s a factory accessory. And since it’s permanently mounted to the windshield it effectively becomes part of the windshield so hopefully Insurance views it this way when replacing a windshield.
