I would suggest using safety harnesses for your dogs. The biggest reason is safety. You hit the brakes and your loose dogs will go flying. The harness would keep the dogs in the bag seat too.
Thanks for the info. I know charging in the hinterland is getting better but I'm not there yet - mentally. I can handle the extra 3 hours - 1 way - to charge an EV on this trip but having to worry about charging while running around the boonies at my destination would ruin the trip for me - I think.
try driving from Flagstaff AZ to Regent ND. Nearest charger to Regent is a 50 mile one way drive. Driving on farm roads, the mileage adds up, often 100 + miles a day and now I have to drive a hundred miles to get charged unless a farmer would let me use an extension cord to hook up to their 240V...
I would like the dimensions of the rear opening with the trail gate down and the shell door up. Need to slide in some dog kennels. I'm also not sure I like holding the shell door up with a pole but I would have to see it to know for sure.
