Hmmmm... fair enough, but if the window dropped, then Tesla accessories division plus after market could very easily sell fan inserts etc. to extract cooled air from the cabin and better push it into the vault. That is a much simpler retrofit then replacing the glass. It could also help...
Well Musk did say it's an insane technology bandwagon or something to that effect. So it's an insane technological bandwagon missing a whole bunch of cool crap.
I'm hoping the other "insane technology" in it offsets the drop in usefulness for camping.
I've been lusting after the CT since the...
I can understand that for the midgate, but why is adding retractable window glass so cost prohibitive? Sure, extra mechanism, motor etc. but seems fairly small compared to the added utility for camping etc. which has to be a fairly significant market.
So... was Ellison saying they have custom software for Police and Fire departments that runs directly on Tesla's hardware? If so, that's pretty cool, and is a kind of obvious use-case but this is the first I've heard of something like that.
Look at those panel gaps... seriously, you could drive a Gigacasting through the gap between the button and the panel. Where is the 10 micron precision?!?!?!
:p
I've never timed how long it takes our X to change height, but it's definitely not 1 minute, but it's not super speedy either. We lowered it from Very High to Low (not the lowest) a couple of days ago and I'd guess it's about 20-30 seconds.
Honestly, I'm worried about reliability of the air...
What I wish Tesla would do is do licensed accessories like the bajillion driver displays for the Y and 3. That way I could get one without feeling like I'm risking warranty coverage in the unlikely scenario that I have problems.
Their vehicles are such blank canvases (even Hans said so) that it...
Well, in my Y you have to remove the frunk liner, and pop off the big hunk of plastic ducting that contains the filter, it's not terrible. But where would it go in the CT? Doesn't look like there is a spot? I mean, what the hell do I know, but it doesn't stick out if it's there.
I don't give a damn about how manly a tire tread looks, that's for losers. I'm interested in the data. If you can point me at a set of tires that functions best for my usage and costs less, I'm down, regardless of how they look. I really hope something like that is/will be available.
If it's about $2K for the set then it's about the same price as a set of OEM tires for my Model Y Perf. I'm about 17K miles in and the car is already telling me the rears need replacement/rotation. I recently had one repaired and the guy in the shop pointed out the bubble in the sidewall on the...
