Freedom Hitch 5th Wheel dolly / piggyback

Functionally, this would be similar to the second trailer in a multi-trailer big rig setup. Must be doable but would certainly be challenging to reverse. Here's one https://freedomhitch.com/

    Towing range extender trailer

Nothing for trailers that small. Pebble and Lightship offer RV trailers with batteries and powered axles to extend the range of the towing vehicle. You might suggest it to some of the manufacturers of equipment and vehicle trailers since it would be helpful for recreational and commercial use.

Drove a Rivian today. Drove a Chevy, Ford. My thoughts.

Other than personal biases, everyone also has different use cases. A lot of the GM truck buyers just want the longer range for towing. In addition, the big batteries are ideal for arbitrage/selling power to the utility in order to offset some of the cost of the trucks. To each his own.

Is this thing electric or this person is just a POS

Not an EV. The GM BEV trucks do not have separate beds.

Tesla insurance companies under legal fire

FYI... The California Insurance Department on Friday accused a couple of Tesla insurance companies of “ongoing systemic failures” and “unfair” practices that include not responding to auto policyholders’ claims within 15 days as required by law; failure to thoroughly investigate claims; failure...

FSD in rural areas and unmarked driveways - how I updated mine by submitting Google map edit

Useful info but I always chuckle when someone is bugged they actually have to drive 1000 ft or so.

Tesla considering smaller compact pickup truck (baby Cybertruck?)

Unfortunately, this is probably another gross overestimation.

    Cybervan imagined

Personally, when people create and post CGI generated vehicles like these, I just enjoy the creativity.

With sales down is the CT going to become a Delorean

You've hit the nail on the head. Now that everyone that bought a Cybertruck for its novelty/statement has theirs, the truck has to appeal on its merits. There are going to be buyers for whom it fits and others for whom it doesn't. Other EV trucks will have a broader appeal because their format...

With sales down is the CT going to become a Delorean

Where did you get that? There is no limit on production. Their current limit is demand, which is growing.

With sales down is the CT going to become a Delorean

As interesting and fascinating as the Cybertruck design is, it was probably a mistake to make something that so constrains their options for a wide model range. GM EV pickup is almost as limiting. Ford and RAM have a lot more flexibility with body and bed on ladder frames.

    Painting vs Wrapping Cybertruck

It is kind of odd/amusing that the SS seems to actually take more effort to keep pristine than an good paint job. I am more likely to buy a different truck for other reasons but, if I were to buy a CT, I would paint it. Maybe two tone.

    Painting vs Wrapping Cybertruck

Actually, I would be more likely to buy it if it were painted an attractive color. Not a fan of wraps.

    Cybertruck Range Extender

The Cybertruck needs more battery but the range extender in the bed was always a silly way to go about it. Kind of makes the truck no longer a truck. Unfortunately, more battery capacity is going to have to come from better batteries.

    Painting vs Wrapping Cybertruck

Everyone seems to be pointing you towards wrapping. I suggest you get paint quotes. I don't think they will be much more expensive than good PPF wrap since the prep probably isn't much different and prep is a large part of painting costs. Even PPF only has a 10 year expected lifespan. Vinyl is...

Airport charging and the nerve of some individuals

Let me get this straight. This is a daily parking lot but you are OK with leaving your vehicle plugged in for 2 weeks? Sorry, but the disrespect sounds like yours as well. That said, she shouldn't have unplugged you. She had no way of knowing you were going to be gone for several days. Do you...

Towing a Boat/Dropping in Water Advice

Most of my experience was in the 70s. The ramps were usually too steep to float or drive the boat on. We would drive or walk the boat onto the first set of rollers and winch it the rest of the way. Manual winches for the most part but some people used electric ones. There's no reason the trailer...

Towing to places you do not have the range for.

Not really a practical solution. Cruising, you are consuming 25 kW or more. A small generator or an inverter drawing power from the batteries your mention are barely going to put a dent in that to extend your range very much. A portable 6 kW generator, in the 4 hours or so you are driving...

Towing a Boat/Dropping in Water Advice

In all my years of launching boats from trailers on boat ramps, I never got the tow vehicle wet. For some reason, everyone these days expects to drive the boat all the way onto the trailer, which generally means immersing the tow vehicle to some extent. If the boat trailer has a winch, use it...
