I recently bought my CT FS AWD with included XPEL wrap, I assumed this was a PPF wrap, because looking at XPEL's catalog its all just clear PPF. But once I got the email its all ORACAL® 970RA Vinyl options. I am happy for all the color choices, but here in Canada with all the gravel on the roads...
That's so sucky because XPEL is mostly or all PPF so the fact that they want the xpel installers to install a vinylwrap is odd, I have wrapped and ppf'ed 35+ cybertrucks and I will say the PPF has held up a lot better
...wrap is interesting. I called my Tesla Service center (Quebec city, Canada) to inquire about it. He said the XPEL wrap voucher is for a vinylwrap (slimmer) and not a PPF.
Has anyone taken advantage of the offer and know what the voucher looks like? Is it possible to get a PPF wrap and apply...
Really well made and will give the truck a much cleaner look. I am confident with the cameras but did a quick driving test and I am using my side mirrors when not in FSD
Hey y'all,
Shortly after we got our Cybertruck last year, we were lucky enough to get our hands on an actual CT door. Of course, we did the first thing any normal person would do—we tested how vinyl removability was. Then, we cut it up into a bunch of pieces. ?
Why? Because we wanted to plug...
PPF is going to hold up better, but is also going to be much harder to remove when the time comes, if you have it that long. It will leave a lot of residue that will take some work to remove. This will be much easier on Cybertruck than worrying about damaging paint, but still a lot of work. For...
I got the 50% tint (glossy) also from TWraps, and I love it. It doesn’t show fingerprints in my experience, and I like that I can see the texture of the stainless underneath. It adds depth. Photos here. I think the glossy may actually be easier to clean than the matte.
I was also torn between...
Vinyl said to last 3 years, PPF said to last up to 8 and small scratches may be self-healing (fuse back together).
Vinyl was available in more colors, but PPF catching up.
No opinion myself, not planning to wrap. Stainless is fine as is IMO (and being more numerous, less conspicuous). I...
Early plaid buyers may have gotten the rawist deal in the history of automotive sales. Absolutely brutal!
If you had bought a plaid in November ‘22 and had FSD you would have paid close to $60,000 more than I paid for mine in September ‘23 when they gave the “one time only” option to transfer...
...for power share. That is $6,500 right there.
I was an early plaid Buyer, I paid a lot more and got nothing in return. At least with the cyber we got a lot of accessories and equipment and now they did the price cut and it does not include that stuff. You can have some crappy plastic vinylwrap.
Im probably gonna do black, but My issue is I don't like how the gloss is like a mirror. And I've seen a few black cybertrucks in the sun that were satin or matte, and it looks so faded / light colored, I thought it looked bad. It looks like the stek dynoblack matte ppf is pretty dark but does...
Wanted to share the results from the @TESBROS 3M Vinyl self wrap kit for the Cybertruck. I’m putting together a video going over the process with what I learned, but I’m pretty happy with the results.
It’s absolutely not perfect, but this was WAY out of my comfort level and any rough edge that...
I'd love to see UP make these wider fender flares in gloss black plastic. It would be much cheaper than developing them in CF which would make the barrier to entry for owners much less, and would be great for color matching since most of us would cover them in vinyl/PPF anyway.
My guess is...
That's very nice!
People with FS (not too many that are yet to do a wrap at this point) mostly buy vinyl FS badges from other vendors, as we don't offer these. I am steering away from anything that can get me in legal trouble with the car manufacturers, like trademarked words (Foundation...
I wouldn’t ever do fake cf vinyl (I like your textured vinyl, it’s just not the look I’m going for), but, I found this one that’s incoming. Still looks a little bit off for some reason. ...
I'm wondering if others have had some similar experiences or feelings about PPF. I have a quality PPF - Stek colored matte black PPF.
After having the PPF installed for many months, and installed twice due to some separate issues I can mention another time, I can say some of the benefits of PPF...
