I wouldn’t think of it this way. The truck has a bunch of cool new stuff that will keep you happy for at least a few months. I have an X with FSD sitting in my driveway that has not been driven at all since I got my truck. Drive it, enjoy it, FSD will come.
Thanks, a couple thoughts on your advice…
I will probably continue with the liquid to get a uniform finish this time. I’d rather have the same look all over than panels that look different.
I think if I started over I would start with the spray to see what it does first. The goal is to remove...
Exactly. I figured I could always wrap it later if I messed up the steel ?.
The panels do look pretty awesome when cleaned up. Just a different sheen and color.
I also didn’t see anyone saying it was less shiny. So I was a bit surprised. I was really gentle and didn’t want to scrub it to a higher polish. The bottle said to leave it on for 1 minute. Which I followed closely, but it may have been 1:30 before everything was rinsed.
Knowing this is etching...
Thanks, this and the other comment are helpful. I was going to put a protectaClear finish on it after I cleaned it up to reduce fingerprints and the need for maintenance. Because of this, I may wait and see how the patina develops and how quickly new stains develop. I do like the matte finish...
My Cybertruck was delivered with quite a bit of staining on a lot of the panels. It’s looked to be from rain. I tried a bunch of softer cleaners first to get off the stains. Windex, waterless wash, full soap wash, generic stainless polish, etc.
None of that worked. So I tried some bar keepers...
I have had 2 separate people yell something similar to “that’s a cybertruck!” From across a parking lot loud enough for everyone to notice.
Also, people won’t pull out in front of me or pass me because they want to be able to look at it. I have been driving like a grandma lately and people...
I have my truck now. During two drives at night I didn’t notice much difference from my X. I wasn’t thinking much about it, but it’s not so bad I noticed like some have mentioned
You also have the ability to adjust the lights. But I have not tried it.
Seems like that news was either FUD or...

Does the Cybertruck include cabin overheat protection? I don’t see it mentioned in the manual. (I loved this feature in my X)
The Off-road mode button looks disabled, do I need to enable somehow?
The theatre seems to be missing Disney+ and other apps. Do we know if these are coming?
The USB...
Drove 90min. home from charlotte. I lost count of the people taking video as I drove by.
Steering takes a lot of getting used to. But I am slowly getting it and I think it will be amazing once I do. I wonder how hard it will be to steer a normal car after getting used to this.
I am coming from...
Ok, it’s official! I own a Cybertruck! It’s really amazing!
for you Charlotte, NC people. Here are some more details.
At least two trucks picked up today and 6 more trucks are there!
I was the 7th delivery in Charlotte and the second owner in South Carolina.
They are not assigning VINs until...
Alas! Delivery never happened! They cancelled the night before. The reason was that Tesla issued an order to stop the delivery of some trucks that had an incorrect airbag frame-thing. They took apart part of my truck and determined that it was the wrong part. They rescheduled me for tomorrow...
I agree with this. Definitely DO NOT pay without having a VIN. Even after a VIN and delivery date, I had money wired last minute because they surprised me with delivery date. Then they delayed the night before pickup. Tesla is very much going by the seat of your pants right now. If you...
