Our 2007 Toyota Sienna has ~255,000 miles over 16 years. I won't put 400,000 miles on a Cybertruck before I croak. It or I will probably die or become obsolete before that.
The current battery pack and range extender option is the best. Can we expect a 10% step improvement in 3 years...
So this foundation series is why they deleted the "no resale" provision in the contract.
Pretty smart move for Tesla, but it just astounds me that they almost went with the former in the first place. Was that a joke or did they come up with this Founders Addition after the blowback...
I don't suppose anyone has posted a picture or knows the wire gauge? Snowplow attachment was another thought. Canbus and Bluetooth connections open a lot of options for controlling stuff.
@JBee
This is my thought to delete the hard tonneau to open up all that space the rolled hard cover occupies for battery and replace it with a fabric one, shown rolled up. It would use the same track as the stainless steel tonneau and could still be automated. It should fit under the...
It would use the same guides as the hard tonneau and the roll would sit underneath the overhang. It could still be automatic too. It looks good in my minds eye anyway.
Here us a hack for you. Make a huge 48 VDC battery pack with a 120/240 DC/AC converter. Then use the onboard charger to charge the traction battery while you are driving. This would require a separate charger for the auxilary charger and would be about 80% efficient.
Is there a chance in...
Work trucks have a huge range. It used to be the cheapest white 2wd. You were lucky to get AC and a stereo. Now every mid level exec gets a "work truck" with all the trinkets. People can get the same amount of "work" done in either. Trucks are a status thing now.
Good opinion pierce.
I threw out the possibility of a tonneau delete option. Replace it with a fabric design. Then the battery could be expanded into the tonneau storage area which is significant and in the right spot.
I doubt it given the that the CT pack will be standardized ( perhaps missing 4 rows on the RWD)
Is it possible that the range extender could have bi directional induction energy transfer? I doubt it, but Tesla did buy that induction charger company.
I think Tesla will meet or exceed that date.
In a sense the RWD reinforces the price of the AWD. Truck drivers especially will pay an extra 10-15k for the thought of offroad adventure that will be open to them.
I thought for a long time that the RWD might be a dual motor RWD and Tesla...
Rivian was different. They took a larger deposit, and buying a Rivian at the time was a gamble because frankly who knew if they would survive.
Tesla won't fare as badly on this.
