Your CT looks badass in matte black. I like the CyberTruck and Foundation badging on top of the wrap. Very nicely done. Knight Rider, Batman eat your heart out.
So you ordered it last month and it already arrived?! I’m guessing this was after they asked you to confirm your order. How long did you end up waiting after putting in a reservation?
Great commentary to a thoughtful article. I listen to several EV podcasts and watch a lot of EV YouTube videos and they’re saying the same thing. The EPA test, while more realistic than the WLTP test, is still flawed. In fact, according to Kyle Connor of the Batteries Included podcast, there are...
Lots of interesting data collected. CyberTruck is heavy with a big, heavy battery (123kW) and I bet people are going well over 70MPH on the highway. CT owners need those V4 Superchargers STAT!
Both good points. Has Tesla forgotten how shitty people are? There are cameras on there to catch them, but pretty soon thieves will catch on and wear masks. And the authorities will do nothing because it’s not a major crime. Third parties better come to the rescue with some lockable options.
Hm… good question. I guess it depends on how many people accepted the offer and how quickly they can ramp production. It’s all about supply and demand.
Meanwhile Tesla is doing a deal with Uber to reach their goal of 1.8 million units sold globally. I hope they can do it.
There’s a difference, especially when it comes to vehicles.

The Model S Plaid is both quick (0-60MPH in 1.99s) and fast (top speed of 200MPH in track mode).
I agree. Dragging around all of that weight on a regular basis is unnecessary. Hence why I suggested renting the range extender, but yeah it’s probably more hassle than it’s worth. Once batteries become more dense then maybe a 500-mile truck with awesome towing capabilities can be created.
Yeah, definitely not. There are rumors that it weighs 600-700 lbs as well. It’s supposedly about the size of a Standard Model 3’s battery. Speculated at about 50kW.
The Service Center could install/uninstall it though.
Would you be interested in renting the Range Extender rather than purchasing it? I think this is a great idea. That way if you needed the extra range for towing or a long trip you could just go to the Service Center, get it installed, and then after you returned get it uninstalled. It’s a shame...
I love the Canoo pickup, but I think that awesome utility video that they did was all CGI. Now they’re pivoting to a military-esque version called the bulldog. It’s like they don’t know what to make and they’re more than likely running out of money.
I hope Aptera gets off the ground. I enjoy...
It’s hard to say. If the range extender takes up 1/3 of the bed then it’s 4’x2’. Not sure about the height, but it has to stay under the tonneau cover. The area under the seats definitely seems smaller than that, but it’s not unheard of Tesla bolting seats to a battery pack. They do it with the...
