So, picked the truck up last week and it is perfectly repaired. Invoice attached. There was a delay because the deer knocked the wheel alignment out and some parts in the steering needed to be replaced. Then, they had trouble getting the alignment done. They were really upfront about the...
Quick update: they found the subframe is twisted and steering needs to be replaced, so had to order additional parts. New completion date is 5/30. So, they'll have had the truck for almost a month by the time i get it back... They need to sort out their parts delivery process...
Quick update:
Dropped the truck of May 6, and they opened it up and provided a supplemental quote to my insurance co. Total cost is estimated at 13,268.90. Yikes.
I also received this funny message from the collision center. Thought you'd all get a kick out of it.
To everyone that asked - I was not using FSD at the time of the accident.
The video picks up a lot more light than there actually was. It was late dusk (the time stamp on the video is an hour off - thank you DST!) and pretty dark. I didn't see the deer at all before we hit it so didn't break...
Was able to grab video from my Hansshow front facing camera and truncate it down to just the collision part. Notice the calm demeanor of the driver. Captain Sullenberger has nothing on me... ;)
I'll see if I can find the video - never had to do that before. I also have the Hansshow front/rear cameras (rear view mirror), so there may be footage there. Here is the deer.
Progressive insurance. Waiting on contact from the adjuster; but I've already made an appointment with the Tesla collision center near me. Can't get in until May 6th. Truck is drivable, but when I make a sharp right turn, tire rubs the plastic that was shoved backwards into the wheel well.
Struck a deer last night in rural WI coming home (ironically) from turkey hunting. Deer dashed out of wooded area adjacent to road at dusk - I didn't even see it before I hit it on front driverside corner.
I'm a hunter, so thought I'd keep the deer. Nope, not happening. The truck basically...
I'm having the same issue. Worse when it's frigid and windy (if it is cold enough, i get a high pitched whistle on the passenger side). It's so bad having a conversation is difficult. If I lower the windows by a minuscule amount (1/8"-1/4"), sometimes the seal grabs better and it at least...
Just had an interesting reaction to the CT:
Had parked near the rear of the parking lot at a Walmart, and coming out had a bit of a walk to the truck. Two older ladies are walking towards me (I'm still 250-300 ft from the truck) and I overhear: "if you have that much money, why would you buy...
Picked up my CT yesterday. LOVE IT. Noted one alignment issue. Where the metal trim next to the windshield meets the main body panels, the passenger side is 2-4mm proud vs flush on the driver's side.
For those of you that have had these types of things realigned via a service center, do you...
Buc-ees is dangerous. When roadtripping, we can't get out of there without spending at least $100. Mind you that is for 5-6 people and we are having dinner, plus snacks, plus beaver nuggets...
Agreed. One would think Tesla would try and standardize their assembly lines with 48v so they aren't using different systems for different cars down the road.
Now that Steer By Wire (SBW) is proven in the CT and reviews seems to be overwhelmingly positive; what does everyone think about Tesla using it in the next versions of their vehicles?
Personally, I think SBW would be a fabulous distinguishing factor for Tesla going forward. It would be...
The IL toll website (https://agency.illinoistollway.com/toll-rates?_gl=1*5k3yn4*_ga*MTU5NjE2NTU2NC4xNzI5Nzc2MDgx*_ga_M8DZPEZVK4*MTcyOTc3NjA4MS4xLjEuMTcyOTc3NzkzNi4wLjAuMA..) is vague. I just called them and they confirmed that "C" plates are issued based on weight class by ILSOS and thus...
