You're right, it works great.... As long as it knows the speed limit, which it frequently doesn't. Speed control was a good band-aid because you could adjust it in realtime when the car didn't know the speed limit, and not have to disengage.
I kinda wish they would've kept speed control and...
I'm not entirely sure who asked for Mad Max mode, I don't see it being useful/desired (due to the whole speed limit thing) outside of heavy traffic areas where you have to be aggressive with merging/lane changes/etc, and can't speed anyway.
Would rather they work on Banish/Summon, better speed...
I won't lie, I didn't think they'd actually deliver any RWD's. First one I've actually seen IRL pictures of.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I actually quite like the wheels, certainly more than the core wheels standard on the dual motor.
I think you're missing a bit of nuance. Although, yes, the Beast can do torque vectoring, and each half has enough power to get you over 99.9% of obstacles... It's nowhere near the level of control or smoothness that a mechanical locker gets you.
For example, if I'm driving up a steep trail off...
I spent a week with the AWD while on vacation about a month ago. Prior to that, I had briefly driven a Beast (like maybe for ~45 minutes)
The Beast is absolutely insane when it comes to power. If you're into stoplight drags or Baja racing, go for it. Otherwise? I'd take the AWD every time...
Doesn't really seem worth it to me, for the amount of stuff you give up.
My opinion is that, for the current battery size, I'd be ecstatic for $59,995-64,995 for a Dual Motor AWD. And the RWD being $49,995.
For the current pricing ($80k before tax credit for Dual Motor AWD), they really should...
I don't see why they wouldn't add it, maybe other than concerns about the compressor lifespan if a user were to do this very frequently. Technically you can already replicate this via Service mode. Lift it into whatever height you want the front to be, open service mode, dump the air pressure...
Very entertaining watch as with all his vids.
Overall did pretty well IMHO? I thought the steering or suspension would cause issue way before anything else.
The only thing i didn't like was the hitch issue. Judging by where it broke and watching the vid, I assume the drop onto concrete right...
Just though I'd throw out a message and see if anyone in (southern) West Virginia, or Southwest VA had gotten a truck yet? My sister had apparently seen one locally yesterday, I haven't been fortunate enough to lay eyes on one in person yet.
If anyone has/does... Any chance I could check it...

No real details given in the video regarding charging location. Presumably a V3 Station judging by the 250kW peak. No details on if the vehicle was preconditioned, although I'm assuming so based on hitting 250kW at low SoC as soon as he plugged...
