Saw this message from the Tesla app for the first time today. I noticed the other day that the battery was drawn down from 80% to like 74% seemingly out of nowhere. As best I can tell the sentry mode is now stuck on and a truck won't go to sleep. I didn't change anything.
I bumped into this last night.
I had a Model S early on but it was the first one with the new front fascia the and my memory is trash but I could have sworn that was 2016?
Brand new in the box never opened, sealed box.
I couldn't find anything interesting to use Tesla store credit on so I got these in the hopes of being able to get some of my money back.

That is one concern that I have, they will enable it but you will not be able to configure it in any way other than if, you have no solar, no battery, and the power goes out, only then will it begin to take power from the EV.
Support did tell me that it would backfill the Powerwall to prevent...
We are just waiting to see if and when they enable PowerShare. I don't know if sharing to grid will be something different to wait for.
I'm pretty sure if you have a Powerwall 3 all you need is a the regular or Universal Tesla EV connector, and a Tesla backup switch to use Powershare and share...
Not just about making money making but making dropping 20-30 grand or more make a little more sense.
Like a lot of things Tesla, the charge on solar is a great option but there's no extra configuration so like today it's too cloudy and it prioritizes the EV during the day instead of the...
Under a more reasonable system sure but there's been some bait and switch going on. If you just want to buy a bunch of hardware so you can say you're off grid cool. Some folks don't have the room for enough solar to be completely off grid and produce way more power than they need during the...
Some not insignificant ifs there. But you're still buying and using gas and that going to cost who knows what in the future. The hope was that the EV and PowerShare (if they ever enable it) could help get through a random cloudy day but it's not going to do a lot if you're in the winter and...
Unless you have so many panels more than you need to not be able to buy from them during the winter, you're going to have a ton of electricity you don't need in the summer. Maybe if that was the only issue but then increasing the percents for distribution so that what you produce is worth even...
That's incorrect on most counts as I've already seen they changed and added the fee this year after people had already put in systems. Those fees are not going to stay where they are. Many of the people that worked for the utilities are on those boards or work for the utility after being on...
It's insanely difficult, if you don't have an active project with them it's next to impossible. At one point I started a new project and set up a meeting with one of their sales people and talked to them. The automated appointment scheduling stuff, overall I think it does make things more...
That's why they're adding fees just to be connected and adjusting what they report as distribution costs versus cost to provide the actual power that they're giving you credit for. It's not enough that they only give you some ridiculous amount like "$0.045 per kWh" For the power that you do produce.
I have seen this info before and I also went back and forth with Tesla a number of times and was told this is not correct. That the Powerwall 3 with the Tesla backup switch will be able to use PowerShare and will not require the Universal EV connector. The Universal EV connector is only required...
They weren't forcing me to use a gateway but they were wanting to add an extra breaker panel because my panel was too old and didn't have enough open slots. They said they needed 6 for some reason which doesn't sound right I think they only needed two. I ended up going with a SPAN panel that's...
Has there been any word on exactly how it'll function? I believe the only current working solution where you've gateway version 3 and the Cybertruck is if the power goes out, it will switch to drawing power from the vehicle after 20 or 30 seconds. I guess they did also mention vehicle to grid...
I have no gateway, the Powerwall 3 is currently doing everything and I was told, will do PowerShare with no gateway. So not sure why they gave you another gateway. They would not give you the Tesla backup switch? It's a lot cheaper and cleaner than a gateway.
