Did you see the brakes were overheated? So you are saying the brakes overheat because of the tires? Put on different tires and the brakes will be a cool as a cucumber? I don't think so.
There is iron in the stainless steel, but if you passivate it, you'll take the iron away from the exterior surface and leave a concentrated chromium layer, so you won't get the iron (rust) specs from the stainless being exposed to the weather.. That being said, you can still get iron dust on it...
Should last quite a while. But it can be repeated again later. The passivation does two things... removes the free iron from the surface and leaves an (iron free) very thin concentrated chromium layer on the surface.
After the citric treatment, the stainless should be rinsed with deionized/distilled water and allowed to air dry. As simple/trivial as this sounds, it's an important part of the passivation process.
You could make up your own citric passivation solution by dissolving some citric acid in warm...
$20K price premium has me waiting. Thing is, that while I"m waiting, I'm also looking at the Ford Lightning and Chevy Silverado EV trucks. I just read that there will be a Chevy Silverado EV Truck later this year that will have a 20,000 pound tow rating. That significant additional towing...
Tesla is probably more focused on making profits, rather than spending time (money) on giving people "stuff" they have already paid for. If you pay for something, all up front, don't be surprised if the seller takes their sweet time delivering what you already paid for.....
Some early Model S...
Car and Driver Review said that brake fade was concerning for the F-150 Lightning in their testing. Think the Rivian did much better. Would be interesting to see how the CT compares to them.

Yes. Trucks have brake fade too. Can make a big difference, in stopping distance, after brakes get a little hot. And 60-0 braking distance is arguably more important that the 0-60 sprint time in a truck.
Three days (and assuming including Sunday since today is Tuesday) is not a whole lot of time. You probably won't get daily, or hourly, phone calls or texts from Tesla.
Way I see it is this..... if you have unlimited money, buy a CB and go one second quicker. Otherwise, if money is something you value keeping, save the 20K, invest it wisely, and go a second slower. Most roads have speed limits anyways.
Mine says the same thing, but when I click on "Confugure" I only get the option to order a Foundation Series AWD or Cyberbeast with the 20K premium. But maybe they changed it because the Non-Foundation Cybertrucks, or maybe at least a Non-Foundation Cyberbeast will be available to order soon...
Probably not going to win any beauty contests with it, unless you are competing with an AMC Gremlin or Pacer, but definitely very practical....besides the no rear vision minor issue.
Whelp, market value replacement cost for a similar gently used Cybertruck is currently about $150K. Not sure how else you would simply replace it with the long line of reservations....
