The universal question Im sure everyone has is....

When has Tesla announced we will have what we've paid for with the Foundation Series.

Still so many software features are missing, and yet the truck continues to be cranked out at 470 units a week.

Does anyone know when to expect:

* Park Assist or Tesla Vision
* Full Self Driving
* Auto steer, auto park, summon etc.

Im curious when can we expect the significant software updates to occur so we get the full experience... any takers ???

I'm sure the software team and vehicle production aren't as linked as you may be thinking. FSD is pretty great, but it's politically fragile. It's just not something they can rush; getting it wrong at all isn't an option.

FSD for the CT may not be out this year, not a priority for the FSD team or Tesla and with Foundation Series it does not move revenue.
Going to be a while.

Tesla is probably more focused on making profits, rather than spending time (money) on giving people "stuff" they have already paid for. If you pay for something, all up front, don't be surprised if the seller takes their sweet time delivering what you already paid for.....
Some early Model S buyers paid upfront for "Full Self Driving", thinking it was all developed and was just a matter of "flipping a switch", for legal purposes that were not yet worked out. Little did they know their "Commodore 64-Ish hardware" (that's a joke, but you know....comparatively) and less cameras than they have now, was not going to yield any kind of decent FSD they had been promised.... Never happened. Money taken and product never delivered. But when you sell a computer today and say, in a few years we'll develop some really cool software for it, the problem is that when the software actually comes around to getting developed, chances are the original hardware is already behind the curve, compared to the newer hardware really needed to run it well.

When I started reading your post I thought for sure you would be asking about locking hubs, greater rear steering angles, more driving modes, and things like that; not FSD. IMHO this one is not going to happen for many months, maybe not even this year. I am sure it is frustrating (well, not for me because I only have an RN and not a CT) but Tesla has to focus on getting the CT fully functional before putting a lot of energy into a deployable FSD for the CT. Sorry for this un-knowledgable conjecture.

I think that you have a very negative attitude about FSD. If it were an easy nut to crack then everyone would have it by now. Yes, Elon/Tesla have been overly optimistic about when it would be ready, and my household has been the brunt of their over-optimism, but I still believe in them.

Your focus on profits makes me think that that is how you work rather than how Tesla works, and that is a sad way to be. I 'have' experienced a lot of businesses that do behave the way you are describing, but I do not not think that Tesla is like that. I just think that they have bigger fish to fry right now. People are just going to have to be [much] more patient wrt FSD rollout than maybe early adopters and VIPs are used to being.

I sure hope some FSD is out this year. Even when you pay for it for other models, you get something, not level 5. If it’s all neural and no devs, it will have enough data soon enough. Even enhanced AP would be fine.

In addition to the locking diffs that others have added to the list, don't forget about Powershare (both the 3V gateway and the Powerwall versions).

But yeah as far as FSD, I am betting it doesn't show for another 6 months at least. In the meantime, I'm just hoping they enable a version of basic Autopilot with just lane-keeping, even if only on freeway. That covers 95% of my needs anyway.

I'm guessing 2 years on FSD for the CT. Things like locking differential(s) and powershare may actually happen within the next year.

As mentioned, we are early adopters and features will be slow to appear until there are significant CTs (I says >50,000) on the road for data gathering and testing.

So, patience is required, but not expected from folks who haven’t been early adopters for 3 and Y. It took almost 6 years to get FSD to “a human like behavior”. I have FSDs on my 3 and Y.

Some features that don’t need road data will be rolled out soon such as Powershare which is being deployed as we speak (I got a quote for installation just yesterday).

They got FSD working in the Model S and X refresh with HW4.0 in a few months, so I'd expect the same for Cybertruck. Also, Cybertruck has a lot more visibility that the refreshed S and X had, so I'm sure it'll be a priority.
