They have made themselves accountable by creating the contract that binds them to the buyer's financial capability of paying for it, and providing the option to sell it back for a "reason [that] warrants an exception".
They are unlikely to purchase it back for any reason other than a change in financial situation that prevents you from affording it.
Tesla cannot obligate you into financial ruin. If you can't afford the truck and need to sell it, tell them. Your made up reason for quality is invalid.
I'm thinking of using my home equity line of credit as downpayment since the interest proportion of the payment is recalculated monthly. Whereas, on the autoloan, the percentage of payment applied to interest is a fixed decline over time.
12/20 Order
AWD
Portland, Maine (No stores, pickup is in Peabody Mass probably, roughly 100 miles away)
No vin
I imagine they are prioritizing people close to stores because of the high likelihood of issues at this stage of manufacturing. They don't want to pay for towing 100+ miles.

Honestly, the sound system is one of the main reasons I have not cancelled by reservation with the price hike, and is the number 1 consideration I have for purchasing a new vehicle.
Every car I have owned I have had to upgrade the speakers and improve sound deadening to eliminate rattles. I am...
no this is just a way to get trucks to people who will be least likely to complain or sue for being an early adopter.
As seen in Joe's drone videos, the number of Cybertrucks stuck in validation and testing is massive compared to the number released for delivery.
Does anyone actually read the agreement? lol
The agreement states that Tesla will buy it back within. the no-resale period, with a very minimal depreciation penalty based on age / mileage.
If you have financial hardship and can't afford it, you can basically just give it back and barely lose...
Portland ME, RN112764... 12/20 order date. No vin yet.
My buddy saw one at Sunday River Ski Resort recently, but I would doubt it is someone who lives in Maine.
My Tesla Store I imagine will be Peabody Mass but could be any in the greater boston area.
Being in Maine with a RN112747xxx and seeing non VIP people get deliveries in places like Montana, I think this suggests I'm about 1000-1500 cybertrucks away from receiving mine, or approximately 20-30 days if they're at 50 a day, which still puts me at end of March.
There's been a bit of social media and forum activity about a few on long island. They may be employee orders, but they were delivered to the state of NY at least.
Interesting. Could be old fashion hardware alignment, a steering sensor / motor position issue, god forbid a warped casting too far off for a hardware alignment to compensate for.
Originally ordered AWD, updated res to tri-motor since there was a rumor that would be out first (FSD on both)
I was worried updating my order would reset my place in line, but evidently it didn't.
It appears my wait is mainly geographic as there are still only like ~6 states getting CT's right...
I think the take rate IS very low... the number of people on this forum waiting for a non FS is quite high... and these are enthusiasts.
People get very excited about this truck and dream about it... but when you actually have to commit to a $100K truck, you are flooded with doubt and anxiety...
