I am thinking of applying, but my panel and home to grid connection was not done with permits. Everything works well, I have solar and had powershare. My hesitation is this CT to grid will trigger someone from PGE to come inspect and it will eventually come to bite me.
100% skip powershare, with two powrwall3 you will have enough energy to last you a whole night and in the morning/day solar will recharge them. If you are expecting heavy use of AC maybe get 3 powewalls.
As I expected my tesla certified installer doesn't think the issue is that UWC is in the powershare gateway and that's why its not showing up in the new solar site. He thinks its a Tesla ui issue and if am able to restart or delete original site it will all get combined. I told him ill speak...
Yes I think looking back it was a mistake getting PowerShare if I knew then that I would get solar with powerwalls. But Tesla was giving a credit for installation(beast) and equipment so although I had to pay out of pocket i didn’t pay that much. So it’s kinda of a wash
Thanks, this makes sense. Only thing I think I am missing is charge on solar. Or at least I can’t find it in the app or car. I think it’s connected to the set up
The guys are done. But now I have the issue where I have two homes. One old one that I had from PowerShare setup and new one with solar. When I plug in the car old one shows the car plugged in but new one doesn’t. Old one doesn’t show solar panels on the roof.
New one shows panels on the roof...
Ok guys I need some help. Install guys are here. They said they plan to keep the PowerShare gateway and let’s say use it as a sub panel and they say if powerwalls are drained I could use the truck to back up this su panel. They are going to use a meter collar instead of a gateway. He said you...
Ok guys I need some help. Install guys are here. They said they plan to keep the PowerShare gateway. They are going to use a meter collar. He said you already have PS gateway why remove it. We are bypassing it upstream. I don’t know what to tell him. It’s not exactly what I expected but I need...
True. What do you think I should do with the PS gateway. Try to sell it? Put it in storage. My installer was telling me he thinks he can wire it to feed Powerwallls first but I think it’s just a big complication that he thinks he can do and not needed
Guys my solar installation is coming up in a couple days. I wanted to check if anyone knows about the powerwall3 update. Currently I am thinking to tell the installers to just remove PowerShare and do a clean PW install and solar and wait for Tesla to give us the ability to use the truck with PW.
maybe a little higher than what tesla quotes on their website. But I read that tesla quote does not include the sales tax?
Also when the time comes for an actual PW install hopefully poweshare software update is done and ill tell them to remove PS gateway
Small update, decided to get 40 panel 16.5kW system with two poweralls from a local installer for 68K all in. 10K for each powerwall and 48K for the rest
So far got a quote from a local installer two options
1. Large 21.7kW 50 panel system with 2 tesla inverters without powerwalls for 63K
2. Smaller 15.6kW 36 panel system +2 powerwalls for 66K
Thinking which direction to go. In the first option we would be 100% covered in the day, charge the cars...
