I am getting PowerShare installed and thy are telling me AC won’t work unless I have soft start on the AC. Anyone with experience
Premier Tesla Energy installer here ?

Yes, this this is correct. The LRA rating is not high enough on the 3V gateway.

I have no more room in the tesla panel, but i have a couple 20amp breakers left. One powers just one outdoor outlet. I think he could have spliced that outlet to the other breaker
we typically do not combine circuits. Especially not dedicated circuits even though it’s only 20amp. Possible, yes definitely but requires load calculations that field electricians don’t do. Would require a review by the engineering team before we can combine loads

The standard power share install is only a partial home backup. If you would like additional loads backed up you will need to have a subPanel installed and relocate the loads into the subpanel downstream from the 3V Gateway

Electric Code often keeps you from doing a lot of things that seem obvious.

Ok guys I need some help. Install guys are here. They said they plan to keep the PowerShare gateway. They are going to use a meter collar. He said you already have PS gateway why remove it. We are bypassing it upstream. I don’t know what to tell him. It’s not exactly what I expected but I need to know what’s up. Help me out if you can

That should be fine. The Gateway 3V gets its communication lines disconnected and becomes a dumb panel. The meter mounted backup switch connects to the Powerwall and handles isolation .
