Although mostly brilliant, FSD confidently turned down a boat ramp at Breakwater Marina and headed for the ocean. Lately doing weird navigating, missing the correct lane for turns. I see youtubers declaring FSD is essentially perfect, it's really really impressive, but not that yet.
I finally feel like I've given this a proper test, my approach that is, more than 20 miles through Dusty desert near and in Anza Borrego and the truck bed is basically dust free, so success for once!:-)
These circumstances just remind me to try to live showing kindness and giving help whenever we can. Knowing we can't fix everything, but at least we try to make things better.
Not properly mentioned by me yet was the incredible performance of the paramedics and the team in the ER and ICU. It was touch and go for a while and they did everything they could to keep her alive and comfortable as they could during 5 days of intubation and follow up respiratory and...
Thanks for the kind words of support. Fortunately we have a cadre of wonderful people offering support. She had a real shower and slept in her own bed last night next to her very grateful husband. Cherish your loved ones.
You never know when you will be tested. Please learn CPR, watch a video, and know there is a different technique required for drowning victim versus heart attack. You have to clear the lungs of water, and support with big breaths.
My wife was accidentally driven into San Francisco Bay while...
I looked through my photos from last year and I'm sorry I did not photograph or copy the part numbers. However when you call or visit your Tesla service, they should be able to easily identify them for you. There is a left and right version of the hinge and strap so just make sure they order the...
I just want FSD to stay in the lane. Especially highway left lane, really puzzling why this is so bad now. If there's a k-wall close, I don't use it anymore, it's terrifying to drive a couple inches away. Otherwise during long trips, rolling over the reflectors and kicking up dust on the...
I paid $2600 for install of gateway and charger. No reason to be hostage to this particular company. I usually use Yelp to get multiple bids for jobs or I suggest you reach out to Tesla for alternative qualified company. They have an email for problems, I'll send in follow-up message
Thanks for this picture, makes it very clear. This is a good solution for lots of use cases. Probably not for rugged trails though, the aero hit from carrying on the roof rack sucks but I don't worry about it on the trail.
Helpful! I'm trying to test more scenarios and both systems seem to start tapering at around 80%, but my charge limit is set at 84. Taper behavior was not necessarily graceful and the charge would go on and off, with 1 2 3 kilowatts swings. We will see what happens tomorrow but the behavior at...
It's great to have more sophisticated inverters which likely can switch and control output of individual solar strings. My solaredge 10kW and 7.5 kW clearly can't. These were 3rd party installed (not Tesla), though Tesla offered the same thing. I might investigate Enphase or one like yours if...
By the way, if it wasn't clear, power share continued to power the house and charge the truck but with only one of two solar systems when the total input power exceeded 10 kw. I have up to 13 during peak and feel like I want to fully utilize both systems. I don't know about any risk for having...
I'm curious if your input power exceeds 10 kilowatts and if you have an enphase versus solar edge inverter. My suspicion is that this is a gateway input power limitation that makes the solar over voltage, which would trigger a grid outage type shut down.
I have two pretty large solar systems which cause the input power during off-grid operation to exceed 10 kilowatts or so. When this happens one of the two systems will shut itself off, it has a solar edge inverter which will try every 5 minutes or so to power up again. This condition seem to be...
