I tried to find this out when I was loading a golf cart in, and the tires would rest on the gate while driving or hauling in a trailer. Tesla just said they dont have a capacity rating but it "should" be fine with a golf cart weighing about 1K lbs with about 40% sitting on the gate while...
I was originally worried about that too but it honestly just supports...the brackets are sturdy to hold the lights and the rubber stoppers are barely touching the glass...Now I wouldnt go put 200 lbs on the front but.....
The @TSportLine light bar is quick disconnect. Made great! Does come off with the turn of two hand bolts like the front wheel of a bicycle. Will be even better when the L-Track mount comes in to remove at will.
The Light duty CybertruckCo rails were tricky to install and made much easier...
So - had one roof rail and the TSportline LED Light Bar in place but just looked a little off. One Rail was not quite enough and I didnt really want to cover my bed with the 3rd position rail. So.....Insert my 20 year old son and a few powertools and we added a rack to the TSportLine Quick...
Taiga website says the nomad weight around 1100lbs so thats a good comparison....not sure how the weight is distributed but I have to believe theres more than the Club Car golf cart hanging off like that.
So - got a reply from Tesla - -
Apologies for the delay! All the resources we have exhausted were unable to find a weight limit restriction for the tailgate specifically - But if a major of the golf cart will be in the bed of the truck and the rear wheels will be on the tailgate we were...
When I tested it I just had to go into service and click rear over to something that said normal (I just dont recall the exact wording) and they inflated back to normal without driving.
Mine is a low 18XXX's and configured on the 12th, Vin on the 13th then hold. The message through the app (I assume is the SC) said that the truck was loaded in TX and should be to Charlotte by the end of this week. They did mention the containment due to the "wiper part replacement" that they...
Totally get it - With this being so long it likely is easy to use plywood with some support to increase dynamic stress, and Im curious how forward the cart will be (Li-Ion but still 1000 lbs) forward. I have a setup for my other trucks called MadRamps that uses the 2" hitch and a set of...
Anyone with actual published weight limits? With an overall lenght of 8' 2" (from a youtube video loading a snowmobile) the cart should fit clean on there if the tailgate can support.
The golf cart is about 1K lbs, but only on the tailgate for a brief period and likely 1/3 sitting on it at most...assuming some bumps in the road just dont want to see it folded. I used DG components on my other trucks which are steel arms to relieve the cables but not sure if its overkill or...
