Im curious if there is any published information on how much weight the tailgate can support. Hauling a golf cart in the bed and have a few options but if the tailgate can support realistic weight then that would be easiest.

I saw the folding ramp that states 750, but looking for the tailgate itself. Figuring 30% of the golf cart weight will sit on the tailgate I think itd be fine but I know some of my trucks have had limited capacity on the tailgate

The golf cart is about 1K lbs, but only on the tailgate for a brief period and likely 1/3 sitting on it at most...assuming some bumps in the road just dont want to see it folded. I used DG components on my other trucks which are steel arms to relieve the cables but not sure if its overkill or not and none for this yet of course.

Yeah would be great to get DG for loading

Anyone with actual published weight limits? With an overall lenght of 8' 2" (from a youtube video loading a snowmobile) the cart should fit clean on there if the tailgate can support.

Tailgates have static and dynamic limits (loading and driving) and the two are radically different because dynamic loading can be multiples higher. Dynamic loads ratings, when given, are generally very conservative because they have to take into account the highest dynamic load someone might put on there. It's a huge grey area because it depends upon how you are driving and how rough the road is.

The static load limit is more straightforward and generally leaves plenty of margin too. I don't know what either load limit is (or if Tesla has even published one, although I bet they have). I just use common sense. And I probably wouldn't plan on hauling a golf cart with lead acid batteries hanging off the tailgate even though it would probably work fine on smooth surfaces if you drove normally. Because there is always that one brain fart when you hit a speed bump and forget about your load. I don't want to risk that an unexpected motion of the truck would overload the tailgate. Besides, it's a lot easier to load a golf cart on a low trailer than a high truck bed.

Also, I wouldn't trust measurements taken by Youtuber's, some of them never learned how to operate a regular tape measure. The bed length with the tailgate open is 96 3/8", just a little longer than 8 feet. But if the longest part of the golf cart is not within 4" of the ground, then the effective bed length in your situation would be shorter.

Totally get it - With this being so long it likely is easy to use plywood with some support to increase dynamic stress, and Im curious how forward the cart will be (Li-Ion but still 1000 lbs) forward. I have a setup for my other trucks called MadRamps that uses the 2" hitch and a set of integrated ramps to put the weight on the ramps themselves, but there is some issues when the cart touches the tailgage top sideways...

So - got a reply from Tesla - -

Apologies for the delay! All the resources we have exhausted were unable to find a weight limit restriction for the tailgate specifically - But if a major of the golf cart will be in the bed of the truck and the rear wheels will be on the tailgate we were informed that this should be ok to do. Sorry we do not have definitive answer to provide you.

- - - - - -

Just thought I would share....

As above - assume 20% of the 1000lbs is on the tailgate...should be no problem static weight wise...but bouncing could be 2-3x that I would guess which likely would be fine as well but would have been great to hear that Elon said it can hold 10,000lbs itself :)

Hi - I saw a video where they load a snowmobile into the back of the cybertruck. The weight on the end of the tailgate must be significant at that angle.

Taiga website says the nomad weight around 1100lbs so thats a good comparison....not sure how the weight is distributed but I have to believe theres more than the Club Car golf cart hanging off like that.
