They say trucks built after July 30, 2024 have an updated pcs unit that shouldn't be failing. And yet I see reports of some trucks that were made much later having a pcs failure and getting it replaced. (Something like a 2-5% failure rate for these later trucks). Does that mean the replacement...
He said he left it disconnected for close to 10 minutes. I'm still a little unclear about what the actual voltage of the 48V battery read when he checked it. He didn't say that it was low.
But then I talked to him yesterday and he said it's on the truck to Anchorage now, and that the 48V...
Well, no luck with my friend's truck. He tried the 48V battery disconnect / reset, checked the voltage of the 48V battery and it was fine. Wasn't able to get the truck to come back to life. It appears that getting it to the service center is the only option left.
Friend of mine (only other Cybertruck in town) bought a new Cyberbeast a few months ago. Only has 5,000 miles on it.
Last weekend, he left it plugged in to his Tesla home charger, left for the day, and when he got home that evening he had a black screen and unresponsive truck.
I went and took...
Ahh dude, exact same thing happened to me and I made a nearly identical post yesterday.
So glad you brought up the cold. It has been below zero here.
Makes sense.
I installed the latest software updates earlier this week. Drove the truck yesterday and I noticed much worse audio quality. Specifically much less deep bass, and worse overall balance and clarity in all ranges.
Has anyone else noticed this? Any ideas why or what I can do to fix it?
I never...
Pretty sure the suspension was in very high. I locked the diffs just in case. I was in plenty of slick mud and loose gravel. Those are the stock all-season tires, btw.
That's quite the take!
When I launch my jet boat in our glacial rivers, I'm so happy to know the truck can handle those conditions with ease.
For a little more fun, I recently took the CT up a very steep and loose mountain trail with large rolling boulders and rock crawling...
Had an amusing experience a few weekends back. My family and I were out on a camping trip in extreme Northern BC, about 4 miles back off the highway in a remote area. We had the place to ourselves, until a lifted Ram pulled up towing a jet boat. They immediately got stuck the mud, and I offered...
I mean the truck is still the best value for your money you can get. I think sales would be doing well if it wasn't for the political drama. Absolutely nobody wants to be caught dead in this thing anymore because it has been made into an ideological symbol. That's not what any of us signed up...
great story. Thanks for sharing. I too carry a come along for this sort of situation. Glad to know it works!
I recently backed down from a steep snowy road that probably would have been fine. It's awesome to see where the limit actually is, since I wasn't willing to push it myself.
For wheel covers, I remember seeing the 3% number somewhere. Can't recall where.
Does anyone know the difference for front wheel fairings on/off?
I wonder if it's another 3%?
This is the major benefit we have in Alaska...we tend to average 50-60mph much of the time, since the roads call for it. As a result, we get great range compared to the folks driving 70-80mph down south.
I'm also envisioning hunting trips this fall. I would be super interested in seeing a...
Not sure about the 2025 model year, but I will say my CT, which was built November 2024 doesn't seem to have the issues I've seen people report, minor things like wiper issues, wind noise, leaks, squeaks, rattles, etc.
It seems to me that Tesla has been continually improving the truck over the...
Force of drag is essentially Cd*A (cross-sectional area). So the width and height of the trailer makes a big difference, by increasing the cross-sectional area.
People always forget this when talking about drag, for some reason. For example, Cybertruck might be more aerodynamic than the Rivian...
Use the energy app to track your progress along the way. It will update your arrival state of charge in real time as you drive. If it looks like you're not going to make it, you can slow down to save a lot of energy. 144 miles seems doable if your speed is low enough and its not uphill or bad...
Thanks for the report! You're nearing the temperature range that no vehicle can handle well. Oil turns to sludge, air intakes freeze up, metal becomes brittle and prone to breakage, tires go flat. Glad to hear all went well!
Here in coastal Alaska, we get conditions like this all winter long. With all my vehicles, an impressive amount of snow and ice builds up, and needs to be taken care of daily. It's all part of living here. I find that doing a good job of cleaning off the snow after it falls prevents the kind of...
