Yes, I did know that "it looks like..."
I watched that same video and drew the same conclusion. However, I do not have access to a wall charger to confirm. I thought maybe someone on this board could confirm that. So if the charger is removed from the wall box, the cable ends are still firmly...
For what it's worth, that erudite advice recommending a NEMA 14-50 outlet and adapter for the mobile charger in lieu of the Tesla wall charger?
Requires a pricey dual pole 240v. GFCI breaker for that NEMA 14-50 receptacle AND a pricey NEMA 14-50 adapter for the mobile charger.
Tesla wall charger...
I'm using the terminology from the Tesla Gen3 wall charger installation...
The "Wirebox" is anchored to the wall and hard-wired to the 240v./60A circuit.
Then, the "Main Unit" is installed onto the "Wirebox".
My question: Can the "Main Unit" be removed from the "Wirebox" for security purposes?
So, maybe someone else could actually ANSWER MY QUESTION?
Can the wall charger be easily removed from its base, to prevent it from being stolen?
I'm thinking I'd de-energize that 60 amp circuit whenever the vacation home is unoccupied. Then, upon my return, I would hate to see it gone.
Imagine, if you will...a wall charger installed at a vacation home. You drive your EV there, planning to recharge for your return trip. You arrive and find that it has been stolen.
I'm worried about that.
Hmm...I'm not (sure the CT is coming). I wouldn't bet more than the $100 deposit. I'm more sure about the Rivian, which is why I upped my bet to $1000.
I must confess, I'm in 2 pre-order queues: CT and Rivian. I'm not at the head of either line. My preference 4 to 1 is the CT -- 1st because it's just badass and 2nd because of the 500 mile range (3 motor). However, if Rivian gives me the "Come on Down" call and Tesla is still musing about what...
I want to be the first to market with the rear window decals with a little boy pissing on Rivian and the same on Cybertruck. I could make enough to pay for my tri-motor CT!
