  1. TESLA Wall charger SECURITY

Yes, I did know that "it looks like..." I watched that same video and drew the same conclusion. However, I do not have access to a wall charger to confirm. I thought maybe someone on this board could confirm that. So if the charger is removed from the wall box, the cable ends are still firmly...
  2. TESLA Wall charger SECURITY

For what it's worth, that erudite advice recommending a NEMA 14-50 outlet and adapter for the mobile charger in lieu of the Tesla wall charger? Requires a pricey dual pole 240v. GFCI breaker for that NEMA 14-50 receptacle AND a pricey NEMA 14-50 adapter for the mobile charger. Tesla wall charger...
  3. TESLA Wall charger SECURITY

I'm using the terminology from the Tesla Gen3 wall charger installation... The "Wirebox" is anchored to the wall and hard-wired to the 240v./60A circuit. Then, the "Main Unit" is installed onto the "Wirebox". My question: Can the "Main Unit" be removed from the "Wirebox" for security purposes?
  4. TESLA Wall charger SECURITY

So, maybe someone else could actually ANSWER MY QUESTION? Can the wall charger be easily removed from its base, to prevent it from being stolen? I'm thinking I'd de-energize that 60 amp circuit whenever the vacation home is unoccupied. Then, upon my return, I would hate to see it gone.
  5. TESLA Wall charger SECURITY

Well, we're talking about a $500 piece of hardware, easily sellable on eBay. Doors, windows, faucets? Not so much. C'mon man...
  6. TESLA Wall charger SECURITY

Imagine, if you will...a wall charger installed at a vacation home. You drive your EV there, planning to recharge for your return trip. You arrive and find that it has been stolen. I'm worried about that.
  7. TESLA Wall charger SECURITY

Once installed, can the wall charger be (easily) dismounted from its base to keep it (and the cable) from being stolen? Anybody ?
  8. @SawyerMerrit discussed new CyberTruck model lineup: base, mid, tri, quad, plaid

Hmm...I'm not (sure the CT is coming). I wouldn't bet more than the $100 deposit. I'm more sure about the Rivian, which is why I upped my bet to $1000.
  9. Reuters: Tesla delays production of Cybertruck to early 2023

I must confess, I'm in 2 pre-order queues: CT and Rivian. I'm not at the head of either line. My preference 4 to 1 is the CT -- 1st because it's just badass and 2nd because of the 500 mile range (3 motor). However, if Rivian gives me the "Come on Down" call and Tesla is still musing about what...
  10. ? Quad Motor Cybertruck and Crab Walk (Independent Front & Rear Wheel Steering) Confirmed!!

I ordered the tri-motor to get that 500 mile range. Something tells me the 4 motor version will not provide ehanced range.
  11. Cyberwhistle (limited edition) on Tesla Shop

$50 ??? Hell, that's ½ again what I have invested in the CT. But, it'll ship immediately.
  12. Switching to Rivian

I want to be the first to market with the rear window decals with a little boy pissing on Rivian and the same on Cybertruck. I could make enough to pay for my tri-motor CT!
  13. Switching to Rivian

I'm on both lists. CT is my first choice, assuming the final version is reasonably close to the original prototype. R1T wouldn't be a disappointment.
  14. Almost as durable as Stainless Steel?

I agree. Globbing 20-50 (?) Pounds of that mud on a fine SS body? Add a bumper sticker that says: "Proud to be a Redneck".
