I have had this issue many times. Seems to be when heat at the connector is too high, both from charging at 120 degrees with the connector receiving full Sun, and when the cable is overly "stretched" when not parking close enough- this seems to cause the overheating as well.
I need this for my regular 400 mike commute. I hate having to stop midway for an hour to charge..takes me anhour longer than an ice car commute..so im am very disappointed in Elon.
I have been experiencing this same issue on several occasions, including once at home. Sounds like it's an issue with the truck, not the charging stations
I just received my invitation. Opted for a cyberbeast too. Like you I'm a Tesla virgin so it's going to be a whole new experience in life when it arrives.
