I'm one of them. Texas can mange itself without intervention from others.
While this is a large issue that will have to be remedied, it doesn't discount what Texas has accomplished during a time when the rest of the nation has not been able to.
My original plan was to keep my '16 MS forever since it has FSD (and the computer gets upgraded soon!!!). Since the recent refresh, I realize how dated the technology in the car is going to become. I don't see this car being viable (for what I want it to do) for much longer. I think, by the time...
Definitely going to pick mine up at the factory!! It's about a 260 mile trip for me, so the tri would make it back with no charging stops. Would be pushing it with the dual, I don't exactly get full range with my lead foot and I don't think Tesla delivers with 100% charge. At least my S wasn't.
Lowest range was listed at 250, but would be nice if they did get that one up to 300. Heck, if they would push the dual motor to 400, I'd likely change my tri order to a dual.
I would be VERY happy with a port to hook my own solar panels to. While camping off grid, would be nice to trickle charge the battery for all that physics will allow.
This is the first time I've seen this map. Very interesting. My eye was immediately drawn to a dot very near where I live. There are gateways in both of SpaceX's Texas locations. But Hamshire.... It's a small community off IH-10, just outside of Beaumont.
It's hard to find electricity of any sort in a hotel parking lot. Yes, there are slower chargers around town such as the Bush Presidential Library, but I'm spending all day long handling the logistics of an industrial fire brigade. Parking at a slow charger for 12 hours isn't going to cut it for...

I evacuated to College Station from a hurricane and realized that charging my Model S there is going to be a major problem. I bought my S in April, so this year is going going to be my first year up there for Fire Brigade training with an EV. I've been digging for news...
For many, this would qualify as off road. I've only been in slightly worse. Maybe more of an incline, and add more water.
I need to look up the picture... My Dodge 3500 4x4, lifted with mud tires, managed to get stuck on a soaked colache road. Once the tires got caked with mud there was no...
I took them up on the $1000 price drop to upgrade to MCU3. They'll be upgrading my FSD computer at the same time for free. So I'll be going from 2016 technology to current for only $1500.
I learned the hard way in my S that it puts itself in park if your butt comes off the seat. I back up old school, with my arm over the passenger seat and my butt lifted up to see out the back. When I lift too far, the car puts itself in park. So another option, if the breaks didn't work, is to...
