Maybe not right now. Bad moves aggregate over time, especially as competitors close the distance. I rent so I use MC exclusively at home. This is a kick in the junk to renters or those who cannot otherwise install hardware at home.
Sentry mode is the biggest parasitic power hog in my Mod3. I have learned to leave it turned off by default and use it only when necessary (I.e, parking in an unfamiliar area). When not using that I notice virtually no parked power consumption.
Much like the Cybelandr it does seem to be an engineering nightmare. In any event, I'm encouraged by competition in the bed-mounted segment as I plan to camp in mine but like many people, I'm concerned that towing a trailer will certainly slaughter range.
I jumped on the CT waitlist in April ‘ 20 and I bought Model 3 sight unseen in October as a test case for the electric lifestyle. Im sold and all in. Judging by how you rave over the rented Y, sounds like you are too, so take the plunge!
