when I was trying to decide during 0%APR days between getting an inventory FS vs a 2025 AWD, I ended up “settling” for the 2025 AWD.

well, today I took my CT in for its first service (wireless charger change, extra slat service) and they gave me an FS as a loaner. everything in the FS seems “thinner”. like the steering wheel leather, and the sound proofing, etc. theyre all just ever so slightly “less” than my 2025.

this FS does have fully functional roof appliqués though, lol. YMMV, but if youre deciding between the two, try to test drive them one after another. would be my recommendation. im happy that I went with the 2025.

Loaner cars always tired cars. People drive them like they stole them maybe thats why how you felt that way.

this loaner only has 5k on it but I feel you. seems like I can hear a lot more road and motor noise and it has scorpions like mine

I did fall for the “sound dampening door seals” scam lol but this extra noise is coming up through the floor it seems like

also the loaner experience is quite amazing. I have premium connectivity and so when I got to the loaner, not only did it know my seat and drive settings but the apple music interface was exactly as I had left it in my original car.

Yes, felt spooky that it knew “home”, though I didn’t pair my phone to the car!

Same experience when you rent a Tesla from Hertz or somewhere else. Funny seeing distance to Home thousands of miles away in the nav.

Isn’t the range spec a bit higher in the FS though? (I suspect that they used slightly better batteries in the FS because there are no import restrictions on battery minerals or other components of the pack when you are not trying to meet the requirements for the $7500 tax credit…)

might be, but for all the range anxiety I had before buying (considered a lucid gravity for this reason), I have always charged at home, we have a 2020 M3, and so range has never really been an issue. I’m just talking about the direct feel of driving. My 2025 CT is so quiet and so soild that it’s making me cognizant of just the slight change. It’s really a testament to the improvements that Austin Giga must have been able to institute.

And I’m not saying that 15 miles of range is necessarily significant in everyone’s situation, but if you are doing an A-B comparison, it IS one factor in favor of the FS.
