Exactly! If your TPMS doesn't read 53-56 PSI after some extended driving, your tires are under-inflated. Even though the max inflation pressure is 51 psi cold.I run my Pirelli’s at 50 cold, after driving a little bit in TX they get up to 54-55. I launch my beast every chance I get and corner them hard. I love the sound of tire screech taking sharp turns at 70 mph. Never an issue, no sidewall bubbles or anything. 50 psi is fine, even when you’re as mean to your tires as I am.
You could inflate them to 50 psi at 6 am and they could be over 54 psi by 4 pm, just from sitting in the sun (without any driving at all). That is normal and nothing to be concerned about.
Most flats and blowouts are due to under-inflation. It's extremely rare to get a flat from over-inflation.
