The center lower trim can be a pain to remove. If not careful the tabs will break in the center.

Yes, tabs in the center WILL break. I was extremely delicate during removal and they still broke. Having a number of stereo system installations under my belt, I am usually pretty successful with trim removal, but not on this one. Didn't seem to affect anything though, especially with the underseat storage bin on top holding everything in.

Awesome, thanks. And doesn't the rear seat storage bin block some of the bass from the subs?

FWIW, I removed my back cover too and broke the two middle clips in the process so be careful if you take it off.

I found my rattle was a piece of plastic that was broken off and inside the port of one of the subs. While I had the cover off I decided to put some cheap amazon sound mat down on all metal surfaces and it seems to make a difference rattle and sound quality wise.

Just my .02. Has anyone taken the backseat floor carpet up and has pictures?

To remove the floor carpet is a major ordeal. The seats. Console, door seals and trim all need to be removed.

I ended up peeling my carpet up when I had the back carpet subwoofer cover off to install some more sound mat and the styrofoam suffered a few cracks as I did not follow the proper Tesla removal instructions, but was able to get enough met down to make the cabin sound a lot better!

I also pulled all tabs located at the back of the carpet subwoofer cover up and over the metal bars that sit above the carpet subwoofer mat after install and it seems to help with vibrations.

also added rubber washers below the four bolts that hold the subwoofers
