All of the driving we have been shown in videos, such as driving around town, at GigaAustin, on the Fremont test track, in Iceland, and in New Zealand it is driving pretty slowly but it has been advertised with some pretty awesome specs. Has anyone seen it (since the unveiling) showing any of these performance specs, most notably a release candidate?

These are from last month.

And one from earlier this month.

Do you see how high the front end lifts during acceleration? I’ve noticed that the recent vids show the suspension behaving as if it is a little “soft” or overly springy.

Things that make you go “Hmmmmmm”…
I dono, the suspension in my M3 does this, and its just a SR+ and anything but soft. It's just physics, and really shows how strongly that much weight is being shoved forward.

"The car wants to stay in place at its center of gravity, but it's being accelerated by where the wheels contact the ground. This causes a torque which tends to lift the front. If you place a tall glass on a table for example, you will notice that it can easity tip over if you push it horizontally by its very bottom."

And it is the reason the S Plaid goes into the “Cheetah Stance” for launch. I get WHY it is doing it. But one of the factors to the amount of front lift is the stiffness of the suspension. If there were NO suspension and everything was welded, the only lift to the front and compression to the rear would be the flex of the tires. As I mentioned, I see a lot of “bounce” with the CT on the road. And it doesn’t appear to dampen as quickly as I would imagine it would. So, add those two together, and I am left with the impression that the CT is quite springy and very lightly dampened. I’m just wondering if anyone else is seeing what I see. Mind you, I’m used to cars, not trucks, that are quite low, and are stiffly suspended with high dampening.

aah i see, yeah i've never had air suspension so i don't know how good a job it does at dampening. I imagine we wont know until people start driving them around. I agree that this might be an indication of how soft the air ride is, but not sure if it gives any indication to the dampening..

I think we can have it as hard or soft as we want.
