Really?

How much experience do you have driving the Cybertruck? I'm guessing not much, if even a short test drive.

Go look at your door sticker, I'm pretty sure it doesn't say it can handle a payload of 2240 lbs. Only the Standard Range (with only 230 miles of range) can get anywhere near 2240 lbs. of payload, and you have to buy the stripped-down model with no options.

Always compare apples to apples. You need the Extended Range battery to get 320 miles of range with all-season tires, and then your payload plummets.

And I will guarantee that any truck without a suspension that adapts to loads will squat when loaded to it's GVWR. Coil springs are generally worse than the leaf springs on the rear of my F-150 in terms of handling heavier/variable loads. I've been loading trucks to their GVWR and beyond for decades, they all squat unless they have adaptive suspensions. Yes, low tech trucks work fine, no, they are not amazing like the Cybertruck is.

Get back to me when you have compared the ride and handling of both trucks, empty, and fully loaded.

Is the CT better in some ways sure, but will a current truck buyer miss anything (except minimal range delta and charging speeds) if getting a Lightning over a CT? No.
I don't know about you, but I would miss the stereo that sounds like you're in a studio, the ground clearance that lets you drive over things you think you shouldn't drive over or through, the efficiency, the cargo capacity, the steering response and driving dynamics, the larger covered bed space with motorized cover, the damage resistance, the adjustable suspension, the 35inch tires, the dual locking differentials, the Tesla software and navigation, the complete Supercharger experience, the cabin that doesn't look busy and dated, the FSD vs. Bluecruise, the nimbleness in congested situations, the better throttle response, I could go on and on so, yes, there is a shit-ton to miss if I bought a Lightning instead of a Cybertruck.

I'm surprised you even asked the question!

I told you so?

That's not what that means. It means they are finished making Foundation series, Where does it say that they exhausted the reservation list in the US? I didn't know the reservation list was based on the Foundation series. We reserved way before the Foundation series was even announced. So the reservation list is for all Cybertrucks.

How is this BS thread with click bait and not true title still not locked and deleted is beyond me.

I'm approaching this from a pragmatic diminishing returns standpoint. Most of the things you mentioned offer negligible additional return for the money, or are subjective for the general truck buyer. The "insert current EV truck option here" will meet all the of needs, the CT may do some tasks a little better. Not for me to decide. Point is, someone going from an ICE pickup to any EV truck in the lineup won't notice that last 10% difference too much. It's already going to be a lot for the person to take in during the transition. I'm saying nothing about CT, just what an average person with a median income trying to figure out how to spend their money may take into account.

I don’t think general truck buyers are EV buyers yet. No matter what they did the EV market is only slowly growing and there’s still a lot of confusion with the charging standards.

Tesla did the right thing making the Cybertruck unique. It attracted non truck buyers like me. I don’t want an F150 or Silverado.
