I don't know why anyone is worried. You get your car towed. Get a rent a car. Chalk it up to an experience in life. Does it happen? Sure. Is it more likely to happen in the first couple thousand? Yes, absolutely. After that less likely. So yes taking a cross country trip in the first couple thousand miles has a slightly more potential for a bigger issue. So if it happens it does. Or one can sit around waiting for a perfect car to be conditioned after some break in period that is not needed or specified in the owner's manual.
