I am seeking assistance identifying the source of a disturbing noise while driving CT. The noise started a few weeks after I got the truck. It's a bothersome buzzing sound that happens only when I'm driving between 40 and 60 mph, and I can't figure out where it's coming from. I managed to record the sound, hoping that someone with experience might be able to identify it and help me find a solution.

I'm hearing classic electric motor whine.
Im familiar with the motor whine, this is coming from the roof or the mirror area, it's a different buzzing and it gets louder when you speed up.

Hard to tell on the clip you shared. Maybe wind noise catching something? Or is it coming from the motors?

If it gets louder when you speed up it probably the wind catching something that's vibrating just right. Is there a seal loose at the roof peak?

Maybe, this is totally new. I've read other posts describing the loose seals. I haven't seen anything loose yet.

I noticed on the top of my glass on the roof, some seals were not pushed all the way into the seams. Something you may want to check, but I did not have any road noise.

I have a buzzing noise that sounded like it came from Aeroflap vibrations on top of the tonneau cover. The local service center did some adjustments and it’s lessened significantly but will occasionally pop up over rough pavement.

I had a buzzing noise sounding like blowing over a bottle starting above 50mph. Have an appointment to get it looked at but put some screen door spline between the windshield and top glass and the noise is gone. I suspect mine is a seal issue as someone noted above.

If it is coming from roof, you can try this one and apply it between windshield and roof glass. I think it makes my CT more quiet but not sure, it is cheap so worth a try.

Cel phones are designed to filter out background noise. You might get a better audio clip if you use a recorder that doesn't filter background noise. Then maybe we can tell if it's normal or not. From what I can decipher it's not normal.

Update for my issue. Service center applauded my ingenuity on the screen door spline (which resolved the noise) then ran a bead of urethane along the gap between the windshield and roof glass. They said a misalignment there can cause the turbulence and the noise. The noise is now gone.

Side note, they also told me they’ve only had to replace two windshields. One they broke and whistling diesel’s

What did your service do to resolve this? Mine just started making this same noise after 12,000 miles. Seems to only happen when the truck has been sitting in the sun for a few hours and only occurs between 50 -70 mph.
