on several you tube videos I have heard what appears to be a wine of the motors particularly upon acceleration. It is reminiscent of the sound we heard on the roadster and early model S. anyone confirm this and is it annoying after a while. I do not hear this on my Model Y

I think it was part of the plan to have a bit of motor noise. Helps ease the gas class into the EV squad

Exactly! And I was hoping for that before production! Seems my wish came true!

I read thru the motor configurations from Tesla cybertruck manual and the type of motors used in AWD are reversed in Beast, see attached.
I wonder when people say it's cool, are they talking about their AWD or Beast... my Beast seems to be a bit louder.

It’s mainly the beast for me personally. I can tell by listening to the cybertruck powertrain sounds in a driving video whether it’s an awd or a beast! They sound different while accelerating especially. Here is the sounds they make while accelerating, the beast and awd respectively.
Here is the beast

and here is the awd

the only thing which I find weird is what is that grinding sound or hmm sound you hear while accelerating in the awd video, and most other beasts and awds have that same noise but the beast in the video doesn’t. Sounds a bit annoying and maybe a drivetrain issue or lack of sound deadening or something like that. Other than that they both sound amazing imo.

Also the pre production model that Carwow had sounds different from the production cyberbeast to me with a humming noise at higher speeds.
