a Light ceramic tint all the way down the windshield
problem with that is the windshield is so huge they most likely don’t have a film big enough. I’m a huge fan of ceramic tint for the summer but I’m scratching my head on how to cool the big windshield. Most likely I’ll do the top portion.

We've seen a few videos where it gets done.

Does anyone know if the stock tinted rears and roof glass have UV protection? Or if you want full heat and sun protection, we have to re-tint these?
I sat in the back. Needs good film added for sure

What was the cost if you dont mind
Not sure my price will help since the shop gave me a bit of a discount so they could film and such. Mine was $340 for full front windshield, and 4 windows.

I created a video to show the difference between a non-tinted window and a ceramic-tinted window. We don't stock the cheap film, so I couldn't do the comparison with cheap film.

The Reader's Digest:
The ambient temperature of the room was 74 degrees.
The ceramic-tinted window had a temperature of 84 degrees.
The no-tint window got up to 112 degrees before the glass cracked and I had to move on.

GREAT to see someone adding relevant info amongst the tribal Tesla haters and cheerleaders.

That said there is NO way that Tesla would make these trucks in CA and TX and not add some kind of thermal protection on this mega windshield right?

Just tinted my windshield. Love the look.

Looks great. I have poor night vision, so I will not be tinting my Cybertruck windshield. I even tried the ceramic clear tint on my model S, but it made it hard for me to see at night even on NYC streets.

Ceramic? What % did you go with? Looks great!
Thank you! No clue honestly on the type of film. Just let my tint guys handle it, but the percentage is 50% on the front windshield. And 20% on the front two and quarter windows to match the rear.

LOL, it gets hot in any car, truck, SUV. Hell is gets hot on a motorcycle. That's why there's A/C and on a bike, the wind. Even though this thread is a waste of time, it did take away 30 seconds of my life to type this so Im that much closer to getting my CT. BWahhaahahahahaaaaaa

Even the clear made it tough to see at night? Interesting I thought that stuff was supposed to be just like glass other than heat rejection, any idea what kind you used?

Anyone try putting on the sunshade that come with the Foundation series yet? I've not see it yet in any videos either... I did notice that one YouTuber said they thought they had lost theirs, so not sure if it blew out of the back bed or what.

I experienced the same Solar Oven when we took delivery of our Model X in 2018. Tinted everything including the top of the windshield down to the Rear View mirror with 3M Ceramic IR. Significantly drops the temperature.
Has anyone done a side by side comparison between Xpel and 3M IR?
Here’s 3Ms heat lamp demo.

Me too! It was blocking something from the street lights. It also really blocked during twilight and low light situations. My eyes have astigmatism with a prescription for distance. The tint was done at a premium place: theartoftint.com . I also had some trouble with looking at my blind spot over my shoulder and in the rear view mirror. It took me a year to realize it was the tint, because it did look almost see through. I guess an eye doctor could explain the details of why the mostly clear blocks light too.

the tint was on a model S:
  • PRIME XR PLUS - VLT: 70
NANO-CERAMIC WINDOW TINT
If you're looking for maximum performance & protection from your window tint, look no further than nano-ceramic window film like PRIME XR PLUS. Ceramic tint is designed to block out the most heat possible, while reflecting harmful UV rays to keep you safe. No matter the shade, ceramic window tint delivers results you expect.
