Thanks, I did see that - but I'm still not clear on what it actually is, and how it's installed. Got any pics of it uninstalled? Maybe the installation manual?

The pics on the website say "heavy duty iron plate" and has a picture of a flat plate. So, is it a plate? Or a box made of that kind of plate? And how do you securely mount it?

It is delivered as flat steel plates. It assembles inside the console (so it can’t be taken out) and four screws secure it to the inside of the console. This does make 4 small holes from self-tapping screws deep inside where you can’t see them if you have to remove it for any reason. It assembles as a three-sided safe, with the front left open to access the USB port and outlet. Very slick actually, and high quality powder coated steel.

Ah! I think I get it. So it traps itself in there when you assemble it in place. Nice.
